It Has To Be Montero And Barrow Against Hull

There is an old saying in football that you do not change a winning side but Francesco Guidolin has to take a different approach to that on Saturday when his side welcome Hull City to the Liberty Stadium for the first home league game of the Premier League season.

The Swans opened their campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor and will be looking to complete that perfect start on Saturday when Hull - fresh themselves from a win over champions Leicester - arrive in town.

With a victory already in our back pocket you would be forgiven for thinking that we should just get into an unchanged side scenario for the game but for me there are three clear changes that we need to make ahead of Saturday.

Montero and Barrow must start

The difference when Montero came on Saturday was clear to see and for the time he was on the pitch you always felt that the goal was coming. His speed and trickiness will cause problems to defenders better than those offered by Hull on Saturday and therefore he has to start.

The disappointment for me was that Montero coming on meant that Barrow went off. If one pacy, tricky winger who is prepared to take his man off isn't enough imagine being part of a defence who had one on either flank and that is what we could (and probably should) have on Saturday for the game.

Routledge will of course be the one who has to make way but how exciting and dangerous do you think we will look if we have these two lining up on our flanks?

Gylfi will be back in

If there was one more lesson to learn from Saturday it is that Leroy Fer is not an alternative to Gylfi Sigurdsson. The moment Gylfi came on then we looked more balanced as Fer dropped back into a more central role which means that we probably need to go into the game without either Leon or Jack in a starting position.

For me it would always be one of Leon or Jack when playing at home and only both of them away from home when we are looking to keep the game a little bit tighter.

Borja in for Llorente

This is a real tough one for me as Llorente impressed on Saturday but you have to think that because we have paid a club record fee for a player then he is likely to start as soon as possible.

The one thing that is comforting on this one is the fact that we now appear to have two quality strikers to choose from and if we use Montero, Barrow and Gylfi in the side going forward then we will be creating plenty of chances for these two to feed off.

I do think Borja will start but if it is Llorente again then I certainly won't be disappointed.

So there is my view in terms of what the line up should look like on Saturday - all that of course assuming that we don't dip into the transfer market this week.
