Swans Marching On The Saints
Saturday, 17th Sep 2016 21:02 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they head down to the south coast and a game against a Southampton side still searching for a first Premier League win of the season.

The home side will go into the game on the back of a midweek European win and will want to build on that and move themselves out of the relegation places in the division and above the Swans.

Of course we go into the game on the back of our own confidence booster created by a credible draw against Chelsea last weekend and with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal waiting as our next three league opponents you have to want us to get something out of this game just to ease the pressure on some of the upcoming challenges.

Southampton have been one of the success stories of the division in recent seasons, nurturing some of the best talent both on and off the pitch. Sadly for them much of that talent can now be found elsewhere but they have a habit of just producing some more and there are not too many people who believe that their current position is anything to worry about.

You can guarantee this week that Francesco Guidolin will not play the wing back formation that he abandoned so quickly last week which could leave the door open for Jefferson Montero or Modou Barrow to start with some width needed in the team badly.

Record signing Borja Baston has travelled with the squad and is in line for his debut but will likely have to wait for it as he is not expected to start the game but could well feature from the bench.

I do think tomorrow's game is harder to call than some people are expecting but sadly I do also think that the home side will edge it, by the odd goal in three.
