Is A Swap Deal With Chelsea On The Cards?

The Fernando Llorente to Chelsea rumours took a slightly different twist last night after a journalist tweet suggested that talks were underway between the two clubs and that there could be a swap deal on the cards.

It was reported yesterday that Chelsea were interested in Llorente as they were looking to loan out striker Michy Batshuayi who has yet to start a Premier League game for the club since a £33m move from Marseille in the summer.

The move for Llorente was first suggested a couple of weeks back, at first seemingly because of his links with Blues manager Antonio Conte and now it looks like there could be more mileage in the story if there is a chance of a loan move coming in our direction.

Batshuayi was in the Belgian squad back in Euro 2016 and was also a target for both West Ham and Juventus in the summer before he joined Chelsea with these words I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

“Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have told me many good things about the club and, with Antonio Conte coming in, it’s an exciting time to become a Chelsea player. This is a fantastic opportunity.”

He has appeared as a substitute 12 times in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal and has two further strikes in the league cup to his name.
