If He Wants To Move, We Should Be In There
Sunday, 8th Jan 2017 15:58 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

If the Swans were to move for one Tottenham Hotspur player then it should clearly be Ben Davies after reports surfaced in today's papers that the former Swans defender was keen on a move away from White Hart Lane and was attracting interest from Crystal Palace.

I kind of get that players may not always want to move into the heat of a relegation battle but if Davies is interested on a move to Palace then surely he could (and should?) be interested in a move back to South Wales and us?

The departure of Davies is one of those that we have never managed to fill since he left the club, Neil Taylor has never stepped back up to the mark of Premier League football and whilst Stephen Kingsley is a very good prospect the option of bring Davies back would be an excellent one.

Let us also remember that he could fill in at centre back if we wanted him to as well so it makes sense on many levels.

Davies was picked for Tottenham in today's FA Cup clash against Aston Villa but with Danny Rose in such excellent form he finds himself second choice at Spurs and it is reported that he would welcome first team football at this stage of his career.

Having missed out on bringing back one local talent in Joe Allen back in the summer in my mind missing out on a second one this time around in Davies would be crazy. And whilst Palace may appeal as maybe he wants to stay in London, not making sure we are in the mix makes no sense at all.

Will we have new players in before the Arsenal game?
