Chelsea Striker Swap A Step Closer?
Monday, 9th Jan 2017 10:24 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

It has been reported that Chelsea have today made contact with the Swans to sound us out about a swap deal with Fernando Llorente moving to Stamford Bridge and £33m striker Michy Batshuyai coming here on loan as part of that deal.

Speculation has been rife over the past week or so that a deal was there to be had with the current Premier League leaders who see Llorente as the ideal man to back up Diego Costa and also want Batshuyai to have some Premier League experience at a different club as they see him as part of their longer term plans.

The striker played and scored for the Blues in yesterday's FA Cup win over Peterborough but has been restricted for his Premier League chances since his summer move which is something Chelsea want to address with a loan move.

Respected journalist Guillem Balague tweeted this this morning, suggesting that contact has been made and that we could see movement this week.

Only yesterday the same journalist denied that anything had happened which does lead to suggest that there could have been progress made this morning and that a deal could happen ahead of the weekend.

Llorente has scored 6 goals for the Swans since his summer move but a swap deal could make sense for both sides and the more it is talked about the more logic you can see in the move.
