Blackburn Close In On Emnes Extended Stay

As an outgoing at Swansea, Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that they are in talks with the Swans over keeping Marvin Emnes at Ewood Park with the possibility of a permanent deal under discussion.

Emnes has been on loan for all of this season and last weekend the Swans refused permission for him to be cup tied, suggesting by that action that they wanted to keep all options open regarding the player and a departure from the Liberty Stadium.

He is not likely to be anywhere near our first team plans either this season or beyond and the Swans should definitely be looking to move towards a permanent deal for the player.

"Marvin Emnes' loan expires after the Ipswich game and we would love to keep him at the football club," Rovers manager Owen Coyle told their official website.

"So it is a case of looking to get a deal agreed, whether that is Marvin being here permanently or whether it is extending his loan until the end of the season.

"We would like Marvin to be at Blackburn Rovers and we'll continue to pursue that.

"When he came in he really set the place alight," added Coyle. "Then he got a couple of niggling injuries but within that he has shown a lot of flashes.

"I'd love to get him back to that level as when he came in the door because he is a real difference maker, a real attacking threat at the top end of the pitch and he's a different flavour from what the other players are.

"So it would be nice to get him here and be part of what we are doing. Ultimately it is up to us to come to some kind of agreement with Swansea."
