Routledge Deal "May Be Difficult"

It has been suggested by Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola that the Swans may well want to hold onto wide man Wayne Routledge after newspaper reports emerged that they were looking to make a £3m move for the man who has 200 Swansea appearances behind him.

It is believe that Paul Clement sees Routledge very much as part of his plans and he could well reject any advances for the player especially as Routledge himself has given no indication of his desire to leave the Liberty.

Zola sees Routledge as an ideal player to add to a side that he is trying to get promoted to the Premier League but could be forced to look elsewhere if the Swans are insistent that the no sale signs are very much up.

"Wayne plays in a position we are looking for," Zola said.

"It is going to be very difficult because we are talking about a very well established Premier League player and a player that I don't think Swansea will be very willing to talk about.

"He is a player that can change things around but to be honest it's not easy."
