Was That Llorente's Swan-Song?

Fernando Llorente to Chelsea is a story that will just not disappear in this transfer window and many were asking the question after yesterday's game whether that was his last appearance in a Swans shirt and, to be fair, if it was then what a way it would be to go.

The one thing I would say on yesterday's game is that the way that Llorente celebrated the goals and the way he celebrated the win at the end of the game even if he is on his way he was totally committed to the Swans for the game yesterday although the cynical supporter would tell you that a Liverpool defeat was an excellent result for Chelsea...!

Llorente's two goals - his first away from the Liberty Stadium - were both taken with the calm and skill that you would expect from a World Cup winner and took his tally to eight for the season which is a total beaten by just one player from outside the top seven sides this season.

Speaking to Talksport about his leading scorer, manager Paul Clement was keen to point out that he did not want to lose Llorente "Am I afraid to lose him? I want to keep him here and the reason I want to keep him here is what he showed today.

"I think his performance was very good. The first time I was involved in this team was Crystal Palace and he showed all the qualities he had in that game. If you get the right kind of service into him he is a goalscorer but you have to give him service."

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the striker since before the window opened and whilst it is believed that there has been no official interest the papers continue to report that this is imminent and that could test the resolve not just of the club but of the player as well.

Yesterday I believe we saw just what Llorente can add to the side and I would like to think he will be here when the window closes in just over a week but to be honest when the champions elect come calling then it will be very difficult to resist. I just hope that we have a suitable replacement lined up if it happens.
