Fresh from links with Aston Villa it looks like Newcastle United are also in for Swan sea's Modou Barrow as they put the final pieces to their squad that currently sits top of the Championship.

Rafa Beneitz's table toppers had originally been linked with a move once again for Andros Townsend who was at Newcastle last season but hopes there seem to have diminished and the papers report that they are looking at Barrow who appears to be available to leave Swansea.

At the weekend we saw reports that the Swans and Villa were in talks for a swap deal involving Jordan Ayew but now it seems that Newcastle are once again looking at securing a Swansea player in the January window just 12 months after they took Jonjo Shelvey off our hands.

The 24-year-old reportedly has a £5million release clause in his Swansea contract.
