Guardiola Stuck For Ideas

The Swans are at Manchester City tomorrow where Pep Guardiola admits that he is struggling to find a way past the Swans despite coming up against the weakest defence in the division.

The Swans are on a run of form having won three of the last four games, a run that has lifted us outside the bottom three and in with a fighting chance of survival.

Tuesday's 2-1 win over Southampton also seemed to drag both Middlesbrough and Leicester into the relegation fight and just like two weeks ago at Liverpool we go into tomorrow's game very much as outsiders to pull off any kind of result.

But we have made a living of being the outsiders in the last six years and with the change in form since the appointment of Paul Clement there could always be the possibility that we could upset the odds once again and produce a result that nobody really expects.

And whilst it is traditional for any opposition manager not to be overly confident, Guardiola is aware of the threat that the Swans pose ahead of the game “I am really impressed. I saw their game against Liverpool yesterday and I watched their game against Southampton and I tried to discover and look for the way we can attack them and — wow — I didn't find it. It is so complicated@ he said.

“Immediately when I see their games I see his (Clement's) hands in his team. They are so well organised, really well organised with no space between the lines, no space in the middle, when you attack outside they defend the box really well. They also have the long balls to link to the striker where (Fernando) Llorente wins all the balls.

“And they have the quality players for the counter attack. It will be a real tough, tough games. I think one of the toughest games we have until the end of the season will be on Sunday.

“Because they are in a good moment — out of the last four games they won three — and especially the way they play. They won at Anfield, they won against Southampton so not against 'normal' teams but big teams so it will be really tough. Hopefully after winning two games in a row we can stay there.”
