New Deal For Fernandez?
Monday, 6th Feb 2017 07:36 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The newspapers report that West Brom were interested in a move for Federico Fernandez in the transfer window and that has supposedly prompted the Swans to open talks with the defender over an extension to his current contract.

Fernandez has found himself a regular in the starting line up under Paul Clement and looks to be building a decent partnership with Alfie Mawson despite the Swans looking around in the transfer league for an additional central defender to add to their squad.

Fernandez was rumoured back in the early stages of last month to be attracting the interest of the Baggies with a fee of around £10m being rumoured but even then Clement was adamant that he did not want to lose the player

“There is no thought of doing anything with Federico — he is a good player and will be staying with us,” he said at one of his press conferences.

It certainly does seem that the Argentinian is very much of his plans moving forward and if we can get the best out of the player then all of us I am sure will be happy to see him stay,
