Manager Of The Month

It is not a bad start to a Premier League career when you pick up a manager of the month award in your first month in the job so big kudos to Paul Clement for being the recipient of the award yesterday.

Three wins from four in January ws enough to convince the people who make the decisions that Clement should take the manager of the month award.

The Swans go into a massive game on Sunday when Champions Leicester City come to town in what is a real relegation six pointer and we have to hope and believe that the form we have demonstrated since Clement was appointed will be enough to give us a win.

It also goes to show how much time we wasted with the mad appointment of Bob Bradley and had we gone with Clement back in October then what would the league table look like right now. That is now water under the bridge but as this award shows we have a great foundation to build on right now.

Clement beat competition from Antonio Conte (Chelsea), Ronald Koeman (Everton), Mark Hughes (Stoke City) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur) to land the award.

“It is a real honour to receive the manager of the month award, because there are a lot of very good managers and very good teams in this league,” said Clement.

“I would like to accept the award on behalf of the club — the staff and the players who have done a really good job since I have been here.

“We have picked up some good results and there’s a real positivity around the group.
“That’s come from the work we have done on the training pitch, plus what goes on in the gym and in the video room.

“We are moving in the right direction, but the big thing now is that we have to keep things going.”
