Steven Benda moves to Peterborough United on loan
Tuesday, 11th Jan 2022 16:39 by Gruff Stephens

As soon as Swansea City announced the signing of Andrew Fisher from MK Dons, Steven Benda was given clearance to move on loan to the posh for the rest of the season. His new club are battling for points in the championship and will welcome a goalkeeper of Benda’s standing joining them.

Benda — who is under contract until the summer of 2024 - joined the Swans from 1860 Munich in 2017, having been recommended to the club by former keeper Gerhard Tremmel. He has experienced a loan at Swindon Town already and was a resounding success featuring in twenty seven competitive games. Benda started the season as swans number one but under close scrutiny and a complete new style of football he found it difficult to keep ahold of his first beam place. He was replaced by Ben Hamer who until November was one of the main reasons the swans had a superb defensive record. Since then he has made numerous errors and found his keeping being criticised. Hence the Andrew Fisher signing.

This now means the rumour connecting Ben Hamer to QPR is pretty much redundant, unless of course the swans have more tricks up their sleeves ?
