Two new signings in this week ? Obafemi update
Sunday, 23rd Jan 2022 08:00 by Keith Haynes

The transfer window hasn’t even touched the sides yet, the final few days are always an interesting and exciting time for football fans. And it seems the swans have plenty more business to do.

We have been told that two new signings may well appear at the end of the week to bolster Russell Martin’s options. Both are first team players, one source stating they believe them to be a permanent transfer and a loan, but a more tried and tested supporter of the website is stating both are permanent. If the talks go as well as they have done so far over the first two working days of this week we could well see them in to the club quite soon after that.

Russell Martin has been keen to bolster up his centre back choices, and although we shouldn’t dismiss the midfield as job done, especially with Swansea still talking to Manchester City in an attempt to prize away James McAtee. The Michael Obafemi situation raised its ugly head again yesterday in yet another display of poor temperament when Kyle Jospeh replaced Joel Piroe. We did report earlier in the month there has been interest in Obafemi.

Obafemi loan inquiry

There is only so much Russell Martin should be putting up with, Obafemi has hardly endeared himself to the club with breaches of discipline, and it’s such a shame he chooses to react in this way in public. It wouldn’t surprise us if one of the players to come in this month, and not necessarily this week is a forward. That very much is an area Martin needs to improve on as Obafemi hasn’t really displayed a great deal during the chances he has been given this season.

More news as we get it.
