One in and one out today at the Swans, plus transfer updates
Monday, 29th Jan 2024 16:21 by @Cornish67 David

It’s not exactly what is described in the transfer window as a done deal, but the medical formalities that took two days and terms have been agreed for Ronald Periera to join the Swans this afternoon. The work permit situation won’t be easy unless the Swans have processed the details beforehand, plus then there’s a permit (visa) to get over the line as well.

In other news Yannick Bolasie hasn’t come to a satisfactory agreement with the Swans to stay until the end of the season, so he is number four out the door this month. He has several offers and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him surface elsewhere with a bigger salary than Swansea City were prepared to pay.

Have Blackburn contacted the Swans ?
Despite rumours to the contrary nothing firm is in the pipeline just yet to sign Jerry Yates. What has happened is an inquiry from the Lancashire club on his situation. Rovers have been advised a sale is preferable, so the transfer of players out is paramount to anything further happening. The owners of Blackburn, Venkateshwara Hatcheries ( Venky’s) are still to get a resolution to their embargo imposed by the Indian government. Late last year a further order was made by India’s Enforcement Directorate to seize £2.5M of assets as part of 'an investigation relating to alleged violation of the foreign exchange law'. The club insist this won’t affect their transfer policy this month but are keen to see Sam Gallagher leave for Ipswich for a suggested two million pounds. The next court date is now in March this year.

No contact has been made for the signature of Harry Darling from any club. Will Evans at Newport remains just an inquiry and Jodi Jones seems to be just hovering about with links to a few clubs that are unconfirmed.

That’s the update.

More later.
