Swans in selection dilemma for Hull City away
Friday, 9th Feb 2024 17:47 by Liam Walters

The Swans face Hull City away tomorrow and there’s much for head coach, Luke Williams to ponder on. He has revealed his new signings from January are all available, and some could possibly start. We expect Ronald to be one, and Placheta could be another to start.

Speaking this morning Williams seemed happy with their progress. “The new guys have been encouraging, we are seeing their level improve,” said the Swans boss. There were encouraging signs from all of them last weekend. Ronald stood out and made some really exciting actions. He is doing very well. He wants to be involved in everything. Charles Jr and Przemyslaw (Płacheta) are ready to start if needed. They have been building their fitness, but those guys are ready.”

That’s pleasing to hear, but the injuries have seriously dented the Swans fielding their strongest eleven .Luke though delivered bad news on the injury front. Josh Ginnelly apart he summarised the injury situation. “Harry (Darling) was on the grass today, but we need to see how he reacts to that before we build up his workload. We are all on track in terms of what we expected for Josh Key, but he’s not back training at the minute. Harrison Ashby is still not right so there’s work to do on that one, Azeem (Abdulai) is in the gym and doing very well and recovering well, while Sam Parker is going to be a longer-term one. Liam Walsh is still battling away, he’s not there yet and is not out on the grass. He has had so many setbacks, but his mentality is good. Jamal Lowe is making progress but again is not out on the grass.”

The news of Sam Parker isn’t good, he had a bright start to his full Swans career. But with news now he could be out for a few months along with numerous others like Ginnelly and Liam Walsh is all part and parcel of a footballers career at Swansea City. We covered this the other day in a report on the continued procession of injured players this season.

That’s here —> ⚽️ So many injuries

There is still belief in the head coach, and the Swans really do have to get to grips with the next four fixtures as they could produce not a lot. It’s after that we have to look and keep our fingers crossed. We had a review of Hull City earlier on this week.
