Swansea City : Decision time for Hellberg and indeed the Swans Thursday, 13th Nov 2025 21:44 by Liam Walters & Keith Haynes Swansea City despite being in talks with Hammarby IF coach Kim Hellberg today may have to wait a while longer before announcing him as the new Swans head coach. We reported this morning on potential considerations both he and his family have to make to come to an informed decision. Initially the talks and meet were in London but it is believed he will be in Swansea tomorrow and see what is in front of him regards training facilities and the overall Swansea picture. That’s the expectation anyway. He is accompanied by his agent, Lennart Norgren who specialises in representing clients in managerial roles. However, we hear the Swans are confident as of this evening they have discussed sufficiently the ‘general terms’ - and both parties are happy in principle of the Hellberg’s current motivation to come to Swansea. We also understand the accommodation offered to Kim (below) and his family, a variety of assistance, especially with a young family and mentoring on the area and help is also offered. The salary will be a considerable increase on his terms at Hammarby IF, and as ever the Swans have loaded on a very lucrative bonus package very similar to Alan Sheehan. That’s the way these things are done these days as we have explained comprehensively on our news and reports since our inception in 2020. ![]() Chairman Tom Gorringe and Adam Worth, head of analytics and recruitment are spearheading these talks with the full support of majority owners, Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. All have spoken today. We do know there has been some talk on the staffing and who will work alongside Hellberg, the Swans are fully aware of his preferences but also have their own dilemma with their current set up. Although nowhere near confirmed Martyn Margetson if moved on would be a huge gap to fill. He has operated at world level with England in major Championships and is now on international duty with Wales. Since Lawrence Vigouroux came to Swansea he has gone from an also ran to what seems to be preferred choice for his country Chile. He will be in Russia this evening preparing for Saturdays game at the Olimpiyskiy Stadion, Fisht. And then the team take on Peru in Chile on Tuesday night. Both games are friendlies. With the Swans having a very broad make up of players and many away on international duty you get the feeling that this weeks lack of training at Fairwood and little coaching going on that the Swansea majority owners have moved rapidly to cease matters and regroup. Despite their support for Sheehan both Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen were quick to move after the result on Saturday. We covered that in our report last week. We also understand the futures of the current coaching set up has been decided based on the Swans meeting today with Hellberg. We will leave the club to disclose those details. So it seems that after discussions concluded today that it will be a little while longer before we are told there is an urgency to get the new head coach appointed. There most certainly is a little way to go. Compensation for his services has been clarified and as we reported this morning it will cost money but that will depend on who else comes with Hellberg. And indeed who leaves to make way. ⚽️That report is here —> Family values Thanks for supporting the Indy. ![]() Soon.
