Season Ticket Totaliser Thread 21:41 - Mar 20 with 141754 views442Dale

We have 87 days for people to get their £50 deposits in to determine the price of the 2017/18 Season Tickets.

Average amount of daily sales required by 21st June to hit the targets:
2000 (£250): 23
2500 (£200): 29
3000 (£150): 35
4000 (£110): 46

Keeping a track of this really helped ramp up the interest when Hartlepool fans did it, so hopefully it'll have a similar effect. Debate the numbers here over the next week, then we can add the figures once sales commence.

So, 3536 Daleys + neutrals out of a crowd of 4387.

It was midweek.
Utd were on the telly.
But it was also a pound. That's a pro-rata price of £23/season.
Some of those who went for a look-see won't come back either.

We're going to have to sell plenty of STs to businesses and u-11s to make 4k based on those numbers?

Hypothetical I know but I'd reckon that midweek games are usually 2/3 of a Saturday attendance in recent years so you could argue that lends itself to approx 5000 home supporters for a Saturday game. Given that we're pitching the season ticket at a price to attract those who might only see half of all home games, it's a step in the right direction. A thousand other factors to throw into the mix though.

This was also a rearranged game too, so numbers may have been slightly lower because of that. I just thought there'd be more there last night. I guessed 4.5k beforehand but wished for an Oldham sized crowd, as per when they did their freebie. When I looked around I guessed 4.3k just before the announcement so got pretty close.

It did make me wonder if the Bratfud game could/should be made £1 or free? Potentially entertaining tie, could be lots at stake and a long weekend. A great chance to push the offer again?

Are we not allowed to run a certain number of "local promotions" for home fans only and charge the Tykes full price?

Edit. Thought I recalled something about this:

"34.2.11 Discounts or special promotions (in each case for one match only) made available to supporters of the Home Club must also be made available on a similar basis to visiting supporters provided always that each Club shall be permitted to designate four (4) Matches per Season as ‘local promotion’ Matches where this Regulation shall be deemed not to apply. Clubs shall notify The League of the Matches so designated as and when they are designated.

There really does need to be some consistency about the updating numbers. Otherwise it'll descend into a "how many now?" situation.

If it's every two days, fine. Every three, again that's ok, but we need to know so that when Joe Bloggs asks the fans who want to help push this, there is an immediate answer with which to prompt action.

Yep exactly! At the moment it feels a bit random. Even if the increase between the last announcement isn't great it hopefully will get people who have already signed up to spread the word.

Still no update I'm guessing this means we've not even reached the 600 mark yet. No way we're going to meet the 2000 target at this rate never mind the 4000.

OK a little tongue in cheek here but that's what the watch and see people could be thinking.

Edit: OK just seen this not sure if it's good/bad/indifferent but it's an update

There could still be a mid-month blip around Easter if some folks get paid then (I do) and have more time on their hands, followed by 30th of April when ST seat reservations are lifted. That date should be the real litmus to tells us if this has legs or not.

There are a few other potential times when there could be a spurt in addition to these. Need to also factor in the ones who we are targeting are people who don't have season tickets and so could still be paying for tickets on a match basis, and with a couple of away derbies coming up their disposable income for this month may be going towards these.

Hopefully next month after the football has finished will allow some wallets to recover sufficiently to afford the deposit more easily

I,m waiting till near the cut off date. I can,t afford last years price and certainly am not willing to gamble £50 in the hope that prices will drop, Let,s see what the figures are in June ,I,ll probably be able to scrape £200 together ,maybe even £250 but until then I,m sat on the fence I,m afraid

Two more purchased for the Main Stand today. I can only get to about half of the games but happy to lend to family members when I can't go so probably just about worth it if we reach the first target. If we don't, I'll lose out on the £50 and not go to the first couple of games I would normally have gone to to balance it out.

Tangled up in blue.

Prior to tweet above, in reply to a fan asking about numbers sold and keeping fans updated the club Twitter said this:

"As shown throughout sales so far, we'll update supporters when we hit our mini-milestones, with 600"

This makes some sense but the longer the wait to hear about hitting every hundred increases a "still not at xhundred today?" situation. Focus on the positives and announce as the total rises, no matter how many. Example: if we are told that we are 986, people can push it that someone could be the 1000th sale.

Though, to be fair, that's sort of what they've done anyway by then tweeting the one above about helping reach the 600 mark!

That's exactly the sort of thing potential fans will want to read! Great idea to link it to promoting the online sales too.

So that's 592 after 11 days, averaging 54 a day.

Trying to work out how many season tickets this will be worth. Surely they must be looking at selling 3 or 4 cars a day meaning it should account for a minimum of 200 extra season tickets unless I'm being widely optimistic about how many cars they sell.

Not much chat on here at the minute. How optimistic are we feeling?

I feel like we haven't picked up the momentum I was hoping for. Hartlepool had over 700 after a week we've not got there after 2 weeks.

Any ideas on what us fans can do to help apart from telling everyone we know and resharing all the clubs social media posts?

On a positive if we continue to do half as well as Hartlepool did we'll be above the 2500 mark and have a reasonably priced season ticket.
