Season Ticket Totaliser Thread 21:41 - Mar 20 with 140692 views442Dale

We have 87 days for people to get their £50 deposits in to determine the price of the 2017/18 Season Tickets.

Average amount of daily sales required by 21st June to hit the targets:
2000 (£250): 23
2500 (£200): 29
3000 (£150): 35
4000 (£110): 46

Keeping a track of this really helped ramp up the interest when Hartlepool fans did it, so hopefully it'll have a similar effect. Debate the numbers here over the next week, then we can add the figures once sales commence.

To be fair they'd sold 1686 as of Tuesday so that's, well, some sales over the last three days.

We needed to average 21 sales a day over the remaining 15 days when that figure was announced on Wednesday morning (the first update in a week), so by last night we needed to be at 1749 sales to be on target - which we can safely assume the club are fully aware of. As they haven't been specific with the number, again, we can only hope that it's around 1750 or that today's sales see the figure rise to 1770 to be on track.

Presumably an accurate figure will be announced later to illustrate the effectiveness of the campaign and the promotion of today's extra opening hours at the ticket office.

Think we can expect a flurry in the last few days. This story appeared a few days ago on the "on this day" section which showed we sold 200ish in the days approaching the deadline. It'd be reasonable to expect something similar.

http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/news/38768/early-bird-ends-with-o

As a side note, I've been half expecting them just to reduce it £110 regardless but late opening sales on the deadline day would suggest that's not going to happen.

I suppose thing with the early bird ticket is there was one fixed price. No sliding scale based on enough people putting down a non refundable £50 deposit. I know I keep harping on about it but £50 non refundable deposit is ridiculous. Yes the £250 is excellent value if you are going to go to more than 11 games based on price one has to pay on the day. Anything less than that IMO is not really great value for money

I hope we'll see a bump in sales in the next week, but i'm not overly hopeful.

I don't want to make excuses for the lack of effort from previous years - which we're now paying for - but you cannot underestimate the affect Manc City's cheap season tickets have on us (and Oldham too). I think their cheapest ticket is about £299. We cannot compete with that. They're our cheap Chinese steel. Unlike Manc United they've lots of tickets readily available and are on our doorstep.

Quite frankly that's shocking, does this number include those given to local businesses ? And given that some will lose their deposits the numbers could be well below 1700. Time for a poll to assess how many are considering letting their £50 go maybe?...

we could have more lost deposits than the LibDems.

Do we know how the buckets season ticket initiative has been going? It would be somewhat embarrassing if theirs has had a better response.

Final clarification of the offer - £200 with deposit paid on or before 21/6, £250 without, fixed as of now regardless of minimum number of sales. It can become cheaper but we would need to get to 3k or 4k. So it's £200. Which is very cheap for what it is.

It's a brilliant price now and I fully expect many who haven't bought into it before to do so now, irrespective of what could and maybe should have been done before today. Hopefully announcing this nine days before the deadline will give enough time to get as many of those people as possible on board.

It's also very encouraging that they are re-addressing the issue around getting info out to schools and that problems of awareness will see those numbers rise as mentioned in the article.

Without doubt mistakes have been made, but look at the bottom line: £200 to watch a full season of the best Dale side we've ever had £8.65 a game. There are very few reasons for anyone who is a Dale fan who can afford that not to part with their £50 over the next week.

That's a decent number, up by 100 since Saturday with no doubt a good percentage sold since the change in pricing and the subsequent increase in promotion of the offer.

Really frustrating that we didn't get this number after the first few weeks. But hey ho we've somehow managed to get our tickets for £200 regardless.

I'm guessing next year the prices will go back to normal?

They should certainly keep the deadline as the 21st to get a late flurry. But there's no harm in extending it till the end of June and payday for a lot of folk. It would make sense - obviously announce it after next Tuesday.

Thats a bi like the all ticket games that are later opened up to pay on the gate. No one will ever believe future deadlines if you dont hold to them.. Thats OK provided you dont plan on using future deadlines.

If they did extend the date and gave a good reason for doing so would that be ok?

I get what you, and others (e.g. TVOS) are saying about deadlines, and normally I'd agree - the "all-ticket" example has become a farce, for instance

It might well be the club think this too, and stick with the current ST deadline. But what's more important, in the end? People thinking "oh, we can expect the deadline to be moved" or in the instance where some momentum now seems to be gathering again but where people haven't budgeted for it, losing out on ST sales? Wouldn't that be the club cutting off it's nose to spite it's face?

This initiative has been poorly executed, I think we can all agree on that, but it's a first for Dale, something we've been crying out for since we started playing winning football again a decade ago. Let's not turn people away until one final local payday, and extend the deadline to Saturday 1 July

Excuse the spelling punctuation and grammar, but how about this as a statement to release on Monday.

Since the announcement that season ticket prices will be £200 for those that put down a £50 deposit X additional deposits have been put down. This is a fantastic response and the club are excited about welcoming back lapsed fans and new ones, especially young fans who are the future of our fan base. The board is disappointed to hear some potential fans have struggled to register for their season ticket when using certain devices. They have instructed the website team to investigate this and they will be working hard to rectify the glitches reported. In light of this we will be extending the deadline to 1st July. This should hopefully give enough time for people to register using a friend or family members computer or make it down to The Club to place their deposit which will have extended opening hours between now and 1st July.

Strange that the club shop didn't alter its opening hours to align with that. Surely it's worth staying open an extra hour in case people want to buy a shirt/something for Father's Day etc after going to the ticket office?

Well I've just been and got 2 seasons tickets that otherwise wouldn't have been sold if the price wasn't what it is now. I'm missing a large chunk of the season but at this price I'm still saving a large amount. Roll on August now

Tbh, I'm not really that fussed when the deadline is.

My point was that the initiative started three months ago and a lot of people were saying the deadline should be changed to suit their own circumstances, rather than looking at the bigger picture. It's not as if these dates have just been sprung upon us.

There has to be some cut-off point, otherwise we'll still be talking about it in September.

re. all-ticket matches/fiascos, the club are dictated to by the police on that and always will be.

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

I am ook with extending the timeline but dont wait until the origial deadline to make the announcement. Why have people potentially scrambling around to make a deadline that you know is not going to be enforced.
