So boring. Why don't the club listen to what the fans want and go back to blue and black stripes? Really really not impressed.

New home shirt is AWFUL. My goodness the complete absence of imagination here. How long did they work on that? 5, 10 minutes??
Away shirt is a re-working of the classic centenary shirt which I loved so can't really complain but yet again the views of the fans have been completely bypassed with the home shirt and we get something spectacularly dull.

The home shirt is really similar to the 14/15 season, another terrible design where the fans' wishes were ignored.

Looks like black shorts with the away kit. I'd have preferred white

Both really average. Won't be in a rush to buy either but the home shirt just ahead of the away shirt for me. Never been a fan of black and white stripes really.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

After last seasons fan designed kit the club must have realised that it's popularity was down to it being a little unique and not your normal generic bland design.
So they've gone for a generic bland design.
A tad disappointing.
Can see the away kit outselling the home one.

Presumably we're keeping the red kit for Blackburn, Bristol Rovers & Wigan?

Blue/white v black/white should be ok?

That's a rarity, though. We might turn up and find the referee thinks there are too many similarities, particularly at Wigan.

I know the fans had no input this time round, but do the club have any say in the kit design other than core colours?

I really hope the home shirt looks better in the flesh, it looks dull as fcuk on the pictures and void of any thought.

I like stripes, so liking the away shirt a little more, but do I spy a weird collar?

A big dissapointment, but unfortunately its something I was prepared for because fans weren't involved after such a success last season. I wasn't a huge fan of the home shirt but at least it was different and chosen by the majority.

Of course, muggins here will end up with both shirts. It's either that or Lynx shower gel and body spray gift sets as a birthday present from my mother!

I really like the home kit. Less is more.

I think that they are good especially the away kit.

However - I don't tend to buy them very often these days.

Away kit is decent, home kit is dire. Neither kit is anywhere near the standard of this season. Would like to know the process behind choosing both kits, because put bluntly I can't see them selling as many as this season. Given that potentially fans could have an extra 150 quid to spend (if season tickets are reduced to full extent) then the club could have made a fortune with 2 well thought out kits, very disappointed.

Edit- Just looked at them again and I can't quite believe how boring/training kitesque the home kit is. Has the collar ever looked good on anything, never mind a football shirt. It's basically the same as the one a few seasons ago (which was the worst we'd had for a while) and exactly how long has been spent designing it? I mean where is the creativity? Can anyone see TOFFS selling this in 20 years time?

The home kit does look a bit plain, but is there a black-and-white vertical trim along either side? I can't quite make that out.

Hopefully the quality is better than last season's kits. They were like 3 for £10 market knock-offs.

Did anyone go to the club for the kit launch? If so what are your thoughts? I went up and thought it was very poor to say it was an event the club had been pushing all week. I wasn't asked by either of the two women in the club shop my thoughts on the kits, I wasn't asked if I'd signed up to a season ticket for next season, the shirts were just on hangers, I thought they might have them on manikins or have youth team players with the new kit on, one of the women working in the shop was cleaning up and carrying bin bags out, boxes were stacked in the changing room. All of this should have been prepared and ready as soon as the doors opened this morning. Very poor

Does anybody at the club own a decent camera? Why don't we have pictures of someone modelling the kit?

I think I might like the away shirt (impossible to say with the photos being so bad), looks like it might be ruined by the collar.

The home shirt is pathetic. Hopefully this is the last season with Errea.

Home kit is a little bland and isn't for me. I'll probably but the away kit would like to see it matched with the home shorts in some games though.

Or I may wait for what is now the usual 'limited edition' shirt released in time for Christmas. Green and black stripes last season, blue and black stripes this season. I bought both and haven't bought an official shirt for quite a few seasons.

I assume Errea make the designs themselves, but surely the club give them a brief? What on earth is on that brief that the past 3 kits not designed by the fans have been boring, anonymous, and as far from this new identity that we were supposed to be developing when we first moved to blue and black stripes as it's possible to be.

Without the badge and sponsor this kit could easily be Peterborough, Gillingham, or Ipswich, and for a club that's been trying to develop an identity lately that's a serious error.

Home: It's perfectly fine. And therein lies the problem, it's a decent football shirt that doesn't do enough but serve a purpose. It's strange that those choosing weren't aware of the similarity in design to Lincoln's away shirt this season as Errea are usually really good at coming up with different looks for their sides. The biggest issue may be how many it will sell as fans may think it's another plain blue shirt, albeit with the black and white stripes moved to the side. The subliminal influence of the exact same collar design (with the colours switched) is also something which may make supporters think the difference isn't that much.

Away: Very good. Simple design which catches the interest and the eye. This will sell really well and you can only imagine how good the home shirt would have looked and flown off the shelves in this style.

Shorts: Really like the home ones and they're interchangeable but would have liked the away to be the same design - away need blue trim, something that loses the away shirt a point too. Subtle trim using a third colour should never be underestimated; a good example with stripes is Newcastle who added blue very effectively to their stripes in 93/94

Verdicts: Home 6/10, it's ok but could have been so much more.
Away 8/10, a glimpse at what could have been while still a good shirt in its own right.

nb. For anyone who says two sets of striped shirts including black would have meant a possible need for a third kit, that's still required as mentioned previously for the likes of Blackburn and Wigan. Presume we will keep the red kit?
Just think we missed an opportunity to do something unique and have two striped kits which not only would have been a marketing goldmine, but would have looked ace on the terraces.

Can only think that someone in the higher echelons of the club has either a hatred of black and blue, or an obsession with solid blue. I can't see any other reason to continually churn out these boring solid blue designs.

Post the centenary season I think we had a great opportunity to develop our very own colour brand (black and blue), which would have been great because;

- Nobody else in the UK has this, so it would really set us apart.
- It's popular with the fans.
- Its a fairly common colour combination with European teams, so there will be 'off the shelf' patterns available from more premium brands (I'd wager sales of the kit would go up 30% if we brought in an Adidas / Nike kit)

Thumbs Down from me.

Good point about the pictures. Mention is made of the black & white stripe down the sides of the shirt yet there isn't one (that I've seen) from an angle which maximises this feature so fans can appreciate it and hopefully reduce the "bland" comments.

Errea have really good designs for their shirts and I was glad when we got them but it's been only 4 really good shirts out of seven for me (green & black, two designed by fans, black & white)
