Good evening.
I'd like to have everyone's opinion on an idea myself and a fellow Dale fan came up with.
I don't post on here often but you may or may not know me better as "Jonny Vimto" on twitter.
If you post often on twitter you will be well aware of the loveable Spanishdale, who's dream it is to come and watch the mighty Dale one day.
I asked him casually on twitter about it the other day offering him full board at my gaff if he could enquire about the flights.
He gracefully turned my offer down, I think he was a little embarrassed or maybe cannot afford the flights (total guess btw)
I got chatting to Darren Roy or @Dazzler36 on twitter (Sorry Darren don't know your UN on here) and we thought it would be a lovely gesture if a few of us could put our hand in our pocket and try and get the lad over here.
Darren has got the bare bones of a GoFundMe page ready to go but just wanted to gauge everyone's
opinion on here first.
If it did get off the ground then it would be lovely for the lad to have a weekend watching the Dale and maybe meet the players and have a tour of the ground etc.
Just a quick ball park figure, Sept flights to Manchester and back are £100.
Anyway, your thoughts please.

Thanks for everyone's comments and support so far. Plan is to let everyone have a read of the thread over the weekend and I'll tot up how many people want to get involved on Monday.
I'm aware of folk on twitter that don't have an account on here so I'll try my best to get them to register and get involved.

Spent a while before messaging all of SpanishDale's twitter followers who u thought may be interested in getting involved. I've had 17 responses so far, all of whom said they would be willing to donate or help in one way or another. A great response with more folk I've yet to hear from so I think it will be a goer.

FURTHER UPDALE
Including the forum thread and twitter over 30 people willing to help now.
Couple of folk have messaged saying they have contacts at the club or can help in other ways which is fantastic, can't thank you enough. When we need this I'll contact direct.
Next step would be to obviously start raising the funds. DazRoy36 has this in hand in terms of starting a funding page and is also going to make an initial enquiry with the club via a contact just to give you them an early heads up. (Earlier comments in relation to cuts being taken by certain sites noted)
The question is when? Should we raise the funds then approach SpanishDale, or ask him first?
I'm of the opinion we raise the funds first and then tell him it's happening, that way we can't take no for an answer!
Thanks for everyone's continuous support. Hopefully we can make his dream come true.
