3 year deal seems a good one for him!

He is sometimes maligned on here, but I’ve seen a lot, lot worse.

he's developed into one of the better central defenders in League 1. A bit no nonsense, but he offers something that we were lacking at both ends last season. Its a big deal that for someone of his age though. Perhaps Scunny are feeling the need to raise their game after losing Dawson.

He was poor to start with but turned into a very solid defender after Hill took over - he had a really good season during the Wembley campaign.

The year after he was shocking, like really bad; he was involved in a multitude of goals with his positional sense being a major contributor. Then there was the injury at Radcliffe and along came Craig Dawson and his career at Dale was pretty much done from that point, with both Stanton and then Holness proving to be perfect partners for Dawson.

There's no doubt he's gone on to have a very good career and, yes, if we'd had someone like him last season we'd have made the playoffs.

A fair assessment of his time with us. As you say, he's had a decent career since leaving us, too, which is why I say I've seen much, much worse.

Always liked Rory. He had a few calamitous games when it was like he'd never played the game before, but he was a very solid centre back a lot of the time. He wasn't out of position half as much as Stanton, but then he didn't have the pace to recover like Stanton had.

Had a very successful time at Bratfurd, and won't have been on peanuts there, and now signing what will be a very good deal at Scunny. Good luck to him, I'd have him back here in an instant.

Must admit he's surprised me greatly with the career he's had. I thought he was poor. His distribution was awful. Went to Scotland, reinvented himself and never looked back when he returned. He's also played in a major cup final. Many prem players don't even achieve that. Good on him.
