Firstly £200 is fantastic value I will not deny that.

The irony is.... if everyone that put a deposit down had put two down instead, we would have reached the £110 point.
Two deposits =£100
Pay the balance £60 on one of the deposits.

My biggest worry now that we've got 2300 ish season ticket holders (which lets be fair is approx. the same as what we'd get attendances last season with season tickets and pay on the days combined) is will we get any pay on the days? If so how many? And where is the extra revenue going to come from to cover the huge finincial gap?

There's much more chance of them attending having bought a season ticket,not to mention the possibility of buying again next year as repeat business too?
It makes no business sense at all longer term whilst trying to grow the fan base settling for a higher "quick fix".

The intention is to attract greater numbers to a majority of games, thereby boosting the atmosphere and revenue on matchdays - not to make it viable for those who can only get to 5 or 6 games a season, and then possibly loan the ST to someone else thereby losing the club cash on the day

There are the group that Jimli specified that can only get to a few games and clearly they wouldn't contribute a lot in terms of atmosphere or £s in the tills.
Then there are fans of other clubs who might come to half of Dale games say.
Then there are folk who just have little disposable income
Then there are people who can't get to many games due to circumstances.
But if all the above did buy a very cheap ST and went and saw some real good footy like we showed ourselves to be capable of playing last season, and they told their mates, took a few along when offers were on, then the thing just might start to snowball a little, like the mini momentum gain in sales up to the deadline.
Sometimes you have to lay some ground bait down to come up with a good catch! |  |

I'm not advocating reducing prices now - it is what it is this season, but I agree - why have a deadline at all although August the 1st has been set for balance payments, so the same deadline has to apply to all. | |

So, go on, what happened at Hartlepools? Didn't they do something like this? And made headlines and the rest of us jealous with the number of season tickets sold. What was their model and how has it panned out? Is some type of scheme still running there? Are we trying to emulate that model or improve on it?

I would say it has been a great initiative and a relative success and yes I think it could as you say have been even better it was the first time Dale have done it I would hope next year more businesses, schools and other organisations are contacted and involved directly and through wider and better advertising .
Let`s just put this year`s to a bit of naivety and use it as a learning curve. |

I agree about the work done keeping the club financially stable especially when we look at how some of our neighbours have fared. I see this seasons ticket push as a step forward and hope it proves to be rewarding for supporter and club alike, because keeping our club going has to be the priority.

It's a season ticket for league 1 football for £200 . It's a bargain, get down and support your local team. How many Man Utd fans / armchairs do you work with who don't go to a game all year. What's the point. Get down to Spotland every other Saturday at three o'clock. I've got mine for gigg for £250, still a bargain. Its 8 quid a game at Radcliffe and 15?at Stockport, Surely now is the time at 200 quid to get down there every game. See you at the end of august. | | | |

It doesn't compute to me that someone would pay £50 and then swallow that and not go for the full balance. If you were gonna try and get to a few games, if you were aiming to get to 8 games without a season ticket then that's £160, which is more than the balance on your season ticket.
For me, you'd have to only be wanting to go to 4 or 5 games to even consider not taking it up, in which case it's silly to put a deposit down in the first place. |  | | |
