Yes re the missed tackle but equally I find that sort of connection between players and the fans is really important both for the family feel of the club and I think for the players' extra commitment (cf Brentford on Friday night) - McNulty a great example |  |

We need a midfield ratter.
Maybe that's Keohane when he's closer to fitness (it would mean he doesn't get forward), but I'd be very surprised if Stockdale isn't looking to add bite to the midfield.
We can point to individual mistakes for both their goals, but in truth we didn't offer anywhere near enough after a very bright opening 30 mins. It's no surprise that we missed Beesley when he went off, compounded by Andrews looking a million miles away from fitness or the standard required for League Two (there is time for him to improve).
Back to my original point, midfield is where the battle was lost. Morley and Dooley, centrally, offered less resitance than the Afghan security forces. |

Think it can be a great moment for morale and connection after a big and important win (like Brentford on Friday night), but after a home defeat in which the atmosphere has been even more insipid than usual it just feels forced and disingenuous. |  |

As it happens the players got a clap from me for their efforts on behalf of my club - having never played professional football and having witnessed a serious injury to a player last night I'm not arrogant or inconsiderate enough to believe I can condemn any player's effort or courage. | |

The Afghan issue aside, not sure where this idea that we were overrun in midfield is coming from?
For the first 30 minutes, we dominated the entire pitch - their foray which lead to the goal was their first meaningful attack. At no point in either half was our midfield overrun. Must admit, i expected exactly that when i saw what our midfield looked like but i was pleasantly surprised by the workrate and we won more than our usual share of the ball in the area

Completely take your point ATP and agree with it, but the flip side of that coin is that moments like this may never have happened.
There was a video to accompany it which may have been taken down by the Eliminate Fun League, but it was a very special moment for that girl which she'll no doubt remember forever. | |

I'm not even going to pretend...if that one comment/quip caused "an awful lot of anger, hatred and despair", I think you're actively looking for reasons to be offended. It's a complete overreaction, followed by another which implies arrogance on the basis of offering an opinion on a football match.
It's a football match. This is a football fans messageboard. There will be different viewpoints and opinions expressed on the game and players (see the post below from D'Alien who is challenging my statement on the midfield being overrun). It's neither arrogant nor inconsiderate to pass a comment.

We were certainly less dominant after they'd scored - it was a real deflator all round (no doubt including _WindyDale!)
But on another point of contention: the comments made by some about Odoh's performance fail to reflect that waining dominance. The lad can't be expected to run at the opposition, which is precisely what he did to great effect, when the service to him tails away

I think Odoh and Newby have been two of the positives in what we've seen so far this season. If anything, I think Odoh needs to play slightly further forward where he can really hurt teams. Players like them are naturally going to shine when we're in the ascendancy, and I think we can build a solid enough foundation to let them do that.
That's the balance. You can't have flair players at this level without solidity elsewhere in the side. If we're going to play Odoh and Newby, we have to accept that they're going to lose possession a few times and have players who's quality is getting it back and feeding to those who can create.
I don't think we're far off a very good side, we've seen enough in spells to show that we'll cause teams problems. | | | |

Completely wholesome moment. I love it when the players and fans connect like that after a big win in which the atmosphere has been great, I just don't expect them to clap at full-time of a disappointing game in which the atmosphere has been dead and the result isn't the one anyone wanted. | |

I'm with you TonyR. I always stay and applaud the players, especially those that take the time to walk the ground applauding the fans. Win, draw or lose. No team goes out onto the field to lose a game. They deserve my applause for the efforts they have put in. | | | |
