I hope the board will sanction a couple of loan signings this week, yes we are skint, but we are in league terms in a good position, considering the thinness of the squad.

How depleted in terms of players do you have to be to ask for a game to be postponed?
If we don’t get some fresh bodies through the door this week the Kidderminster game could be a farce.

Just read on X/Twitter that it happened at another recent game there too.

McNultys post match interview on Boxing Day was very downbeat - suspect the one after this will be a very hard watch.

Someone must get photographs and measurements of the bar that Uche has crashed into.
Has the referee inspected the problem fence prior to continuing the game? Something like this could finish the lad's career ....the law suit could be huge. If indeed this has happened previously there is no defence for playing another minute of this game or any other until the problem is fixed.

I think they know. The Fylde employee that joined the commentary team closed that conversation down quickly. They know they have an HSE issue here

Well found Kel, there is NO EXCUSE at any level of sport for a dangerous pitch side obstruction. Referees should have to sign off on the fitness of the pitch and its surrounds as being safe for play to start and equally should report injuries occurring as a result of an unexpected problem liable to cause injury.
Has the NL inspected this metal fence since the last injury? Gross negligence springs to mind either way.
If I had been McNulty I would have refused to continue the game and told the referee to find a lawyer

The whole thing is on video and the club will have access to it.

Thoughts with the player and his family - potentially a life changing injury.

Regardless of the mitigating circunstances within the club, I have just realised that I have found a spat between two strangers on a forum more entertaining than the game I have just witnessed. Concerning!!

I'm afraid only having three subs today has signalled this is the beginning of our huge fight to save our club. The board have exhausted all the available funds they had available and now it is showing in the match day squad. Injuries have hit us very hard and we just don't have any money or personnel to replace those players. This is the time to stand up and fight or we will be heading for extinction. Have you got the balls for the fight ?????!!!!!!

So Nevett injured, not sold. Worst of both worlds, out for eight weeks I think he said. Going to need some loans, guaranteeing starts shouldn’t be a problem!

I was not at the game, but the injury to Jez seems to be extremely serious, we can only pray that he overcomes the injury and is restored to full health.

Our injury crisis is extremely serious, with Nevett out for eight weeks, Clayton out for weeks, no news on Mitchell, Rodney or Ferguson and young Brad Kelly for the season, I feel for McNulty. Hopefully he can call in a few favours and get people in on loan and at least Sinclair should be back for Saturday and then the team can have a few days off, due to the FA Trophy games.

Jamie Sarsfield just confirmed to me on Twitter that Jes is "fine & dandy now". Thank the Lord - that was so scary to witness.

Sighs of relief all round. none of which absolves Fylde for putting players in danger in the first place. the NL needs to act now. before a really serious event happens.

The PFA (Professional Footballers' Association) also needs to be aware of the situation at AFC Fylde's ground. It is a danger for all the players they represent taking to the field of play there.

On first hearing the rumour that Nevitt was injured the sceptic in me immediately took my mind back to the fiasco we had with Ethan Brierley when he suddenly disappeared from the building and the team suffered massively as a result. A injury or illness was mentioned at the time, then we found out later he had been training at another club who it transpired were under a transfer embargo. Yesterday was the day the January transfer window opened,so his name not being on the team sheet didn't come as a massive surprise to me, I half expected him to be wrapped in cotton wool, especially after listening to the Chairman and Richard Knight at the AGM. There was no mention of Nevitt being injured in McNulty's post match interview after the boxing day game and he was seen celebrating with the players pile on during the 93rd minute goal. Having said that, the manager seemed genuine during his interview yesterday and i dont believe he would tell lies to the fans about such a serious injury. A eight week diagnosis means he won't be able to complete a medical during January so will now remain at the club until the summer at least. It's a blow regarding the finances but also for the lad himself and ankle ligament damage doesn't suddenly rectify itself overnight unfortunately. It was a major blow to the team because a win yesterday would have put us up to fifth place in the league table with a home game against bottom club Kidderminster next, a great chance to start to nail down a play off spot. The team yesterday looked like they'd had the stuffing and belief knocked out of them, the managers post match interview also reflected that, absolutely no positives apart from praising the fans. We're a rudderless ship that lacks leadership from the top or from the Boardroom. A club that's heading for the rocks with so called leadership that have only ever had only one plan to save it, flog it off to somebody else. Anybody remember the days when we had a successful Goldbond at the club, how much cash did that generate every month towards the playing budget? Cash streams that are completely ignored while the club becomes more and more desperate.

We have over 2000 home fans and if each one donated just £5/ month to the player fund we could afford to fund several loan players, my fear is that two thirds of the fans are not members of the Trust and Saturdays meeting in the Dale Bar will fall on deaf ears because they simply wont have been made aware of the plans. The whole fan base needs to be involved in this because if its left to just a minority it won't work, it wouldn't be fair on those making the contributions neither. I would have liked season ticket sales to be brought forward to March with a price increase included but also a small discount for early bird purchases, the option of donating the discount at point of payment could be included in the offer. The club has imploded over the last twelve months, it's now at it lowest ebb ever, we need new leadership desperately. We've gone from giving a manager a really healthy playing budget only eighteen months ago to now not having a pot to p*ss in and the buck stops with those in the Boardroom. The club has been neglected and the sole focus has been on kicking the can down the road in order to recoup the Chairman and Directors outlay. I don't trust them to find us suitable investors neither having seen the credentials of some of the individuals mentioned recently.
