One interesting thing he or the Dale have just posted, is that it is a short-term measure until they can identify and bring in players that will help the Dale, which is a positive message.

As a player who went on to manage,(at a lower league) this is a huge nooooo. Jim you are a legend already but you will be hurt. Trying to play half way through a season when you’re older and have not trained fully is a mistake. I get the sentiment but please have faith in the youth. There is local young talent around and you must nurture it if you want to succeed | | | |

Pretty sure he's only doing it so he can play in an emergency situation (and should be commended for doing so imo), I doubt he's actually wanting to play.
