Once Clayton is fit John could revert to left back.

Probably not as much cover as we think because Finlay Armstrong is only on loan until the Wealdstone game.

I hope Armstrong goes the same way as Oduroh tbf.

I feel that the days of getting loanees who are going to excite with their performances are gone. We are more likely to get young players from lower League who are at a crossroads in their fledgling professional careers, either lacking in confidence or ability or both.

To be fair weve had a pretty exciting loan a month ago with Hayes and Moulden is probably our player of the season so not quite getting your logic.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Aye and Moulden is on loan from a Premier League club.

Personally I`d be very happy to have a "young player at a crossroads in their fledgeling professional career" if it means having some strike power.

Remember Andrews a couple of years ago on loan from Wolves, who scored 3 goals in 7 appearances before getting injured and returning. Inexperienced but certainly made a difference.

Agreed. He’s got enough credit in the bank to do what he thinks is best. He’s seeing the players every day.

He was even named Manager of the week, so Vanarama is in agreement.

One for TVOS (and hopefully, with respect to him, BJ will never be assessed in the latter category) but has a Dale player/manager ever received honours for playing and managing in the same season? (maybe such honours weren't even around the last time we had a qualifier?)

Edit: obviously EFL as it's our first season in Vanarama

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion
Today suggests my thoughts in my opinion are not a long way from the truth. Mellor returns from Wycombe ,which if my memory serves me well apart from Moulden( feel that Goalkeepers are in a slightly different position hence we have had at least 4 Keepers who played International football in their careers) all other loanees have come out of Leagues 1 and 2.Of those loanees at best 3 left without making many lasting memories.
Andrews actually came from Birmingham I think and scored 3 goals in 17 games-admittedly some of his appearances were off the bench
