We've seen a lot of players play better than they did last season, and lots have played well in spells, with some performing well regularly. Cian is the most exciting player to watch since NML, but over a full season, I remarked at the match that Harvey has been my player of the season. |

The last 25-30 minutes of the first half were stunning by Dale. We've waited a long time to see anything that good. Thanks to the lads and Big Jim for that - we needed it.
Nice touch at the end when the players were applauding the fans and vice-versa. Jim moved towards The Sandy and made sure Mellor got appreciation for what he did in the game, and rightly so. Mellor has had his critics, but the last two games, his contribution to the team has been worthy of praise.
Hope any potential investor(s) saw how good Dale can be. |  | | |

First half was an absolute joy to watch. Hayes was superb. Mellor and John deserve a mention for some excellent link up play as well.
Second half required a bit more defending but we managed that pretty solidly. Brooks claimed the ball confidently and seemed deservedly pleased with his clean sheet.
Probably the most I've enjoyed a game in a long time.
Who knows, maybe we'll vote for these motions, sell the club, and the talent and professionalism on the pitch can be reflected by a new batch of talented professionals off the pitch... |  |

Great performance - says a lot that the only criticism you could perhaps justifiably level at the lads is that we should have had at least 5! After the first 10 minutes never seemed like any danger of Wealdstone getting into the match.
Passing was fast and fluid despite the middle of the field cutting up by the second half, and it is hard to understate how important Hayes is to the team - helps mix things up from the probing passing when there's an ever looming threat of him just turning on the afterburners and pulling the entire opposition out of shape from anywhere on the field. He's incredibly fun to watch, shades of the Derry Pele about him. | | | |

Good result and in reality the scoreline flatted Wealdstone, who let us not forget are a part time team. With better finishing it could have been six or seven.
Now 6 points above the drop zone on 45 and so 5 required to get to the safety mark and 15 if you had a worry about an Administration deduction. We've still plenty to do but the teams still to come at home offer enough opportunity to get those points.
But what about the crowd? The club raises a rallying call about the possibility of liquidation and there were just 1,755 home fans with 81 away.
Take out season ticket holders and friends for a fiver and we probably could have opened two stands not three and still lost money.
Two difficult away trips and a near 1000 miles to do before we are at home again. If we play like that in the home games we should be in this league on footballing grounds next season. |
Yeh, good first half, like the old days under Keith Hill ' no fear' 2nd half a bit of a dead rubber (understandable).
Your point on the crowds and the other posts on the town not supporting the club are accurate and make me worried about 'why anyone would buy this company' and if they do - how to change the paradigm.
I am worried we will end up this an owner who does not have a clue or the best interest of the club and town. | | | |

I think he got the tactics spot on - I criticised him for changing what didn't need changing against Solihull but this was something a bit different.
We invited the press and they played into our hands but the little balls over it by Brooks into midfield were used really well. No faffing, just useful passes into space to set us on the front foot.
Interesting that Brooks seemed keen to pass out wide with his short passes rather than to EEL or Nevett which seemed to give us more impetus. |  | | |

An excellent result that brings a boost to the Club, players, supporters and staff during a difficult period.
Some great individual performances particularly Cian Hayes who turned their defenders inside out.
Pleased to see Mellor getting praise as well, as fans have been pretty scathing about him in the past.
It was also good for Brooks to get a clean sheet and a win. He was great last night.
Thought Mitchell worked his socks off but his final touch was just lacking. I'm sure it will improve as he gets over the rustiness of his long lay off.
All in all lots of positivity last night. Long may it continue. | | | |

That was, indeed, a nice touch by Jim to let Mellor get some praise from fans. Another nice thing I noticed was Hayes kissing his Dale badge when the crowd were singing his song. I usually regard this as an empty gesture but not on this occasion. There is a really nice bond emerging between crowd and team. Missing for so long. |  |

Last night what was probably, for some, potentially the N.C. match of the season so far, Barnet v Chesterfield attracted a massive attendance of ........... 2393. Next week probably will see a sub 2,000 crowd at Barnet; we will not take that many.

Bloody brilliant performance that! Every player to a man was outstanding. Those Wealdstone defenders will be having nightmares about Cian Hayes tonight! Until Hayes’ brace though I actually thought Mellor was our best player.
A word for Harvey Gilmore, the unsung hero of this squad. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him put in a sub-7/10 performance. One of those players that’s just always there keeping things ticking along without doing anything flashy, though tonight he was everywhere. He seems to be an ever-present too. Does he have more appearances than anyone else this season? |

It was also on ITV and BBC iplayer, besides BBC 1, so you had football on three media channels, it was bad planning to some extent. Then combine this with the board's recent announcement, which as made some fans despondent, the poor recent football and the wet weather did not help either. Hopefully the next home games will see the normal attendance and some positive news for the fans. | | | |

The town doesn't care.
If Dale cease to exist then there's less than 3,000 people who will be impacted vs the RMBC's claim of serving 223,773 in the town in over 90,000 households.
It will be interesting to see what, if any, uptick there is for the Oxford City game on the 9th, after the EGM and where Oxford City won't bring many. |
