SA v Aussies 15:57 - Feb 12 with 1381 viewsD_Alien

Aussies have just done to SA what they did to us.

SA had them at 98-4 (Clarke out)

They finished on 297-4, stand of 199 between Marsh and Smith

Or, after a poor transitional period, the Aussies are actually very good once again

Ouch, that hurt to type!

The bowlers suffered in the hot conditions, but Smith won the toss so it`s their own bloody fault in putting the Aussies in!

Mitch has taken career-best 122-12 (so far) and the SA's going down to something like a 300 run defeat.

Maybe our shower weren't that bad after all? Just blasted away?

Sun's shining on Spotland now, so off to the footy!

I've watched most of this test match and Australia have been sensational. I much preferred Mitchell Johnson when he was shite but he's tearing SA a new one here. Phenominal figures.

Big credit to the likes of Sean Marsh (always been a fan of his from watching the Big Bash in previous years), David Warner and Steve Smith.

In fairness, this Aussie team does look very, very impressive.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Should be a cracker. Not keen on David Warner as a person but by christ he can bat.One of those players who empties bars(not for his punching prowess).

Gripping final day of the series

SA 122-5 nearing lunch, but with two of the best stonewalling batsmen in the world at the crease against Mitch et al

SA batting for their lives to give Smith a result on his final day in test cricket

Summed him up perfectly in a sentence there - horrible person, but by thunder I'd live with that for his batting if he were English.

Back to back tons in the game here - I cannot think of any opener we have produced since Gooch (Trescothick on a good day I suppose) who can bully an attack right out of the gate the way he can.

One more session - 3 wickets left. Aussies favourites to win.

Is it only England and Oz who play five test series these days? Fantastic series this apart from the fact its only three tests.

Couldn't agree more.

They'll probably play about 7 meaningless one dayers/T20s now.
