His comments at the end also put to bed the arguments about the sale of players like Matty Done. It's with a bigger picture in mind, and no lack of ambition.

in fact, is there anyone who still thinks the club are lacking in ambition? With the ground secured, we've got a solid base from which to launch a promotion bid to the championship next season without bankrupting ourselves.

I'm sure there's some people who still like to see defeatism where none exists. Come on, speak up.

A few weeks ago supporters were well within their rights to voice their concerns though. The season was meandering towards a possible relegation battle, the football being played was some of the most boring I have witnessed for a number of years and the mood around the ground was one of apathy, home attendances on the decrease as we watched the defenders attempting to play keep ball with no end result. It was all very predictable with very little in the way of entertainment. It became an endurance and performances were all over the place from one game to the next.

Home performances against bury and Wigan live on the telly just failed to show what Keith Hill and his team are all about, both big disappointments, not just because of the scoreline neither. The Stadium issue had become a bit of a dripping tap and we have felt the effects for several years now, false promises that the deal was nearly done followed by no information whatsoever, by the way I'm not blaming anybody for that, but it didn't half drag on and I think subconsciously it affected the supporters and probably those within the Club.

The sale of Done or any other player for that matter wasn't done to fund the Stadium, we always have to sell players just to balance the books and players naturally want to leave anyway if a bigger club wafting mega bucks comes calling. Any money coming into the Club will probably be used for a multitude of things I would have thought. It was the timing of the Done departure that stung the fans, selling our best player when on the cusp of a potential pop at the Championship showed a lack of ambition to some supporters. The fact the player wanted to leave negates the argument anyway and good luck to the lad, he secured his future.

It was the Bradford match that did it for me, it was suddenly like watching a different team and with Canavan in the side we looked up for a battle. You could see a change of approach had taken place and Hilly had identified his senior players and come up with a plan.It was like he had decided to go back to basics and do the simple things. He won't admit it but I think the manager was guilty of giving the opposition to much respect and forgetting about our own strengths,he also stayed too loyal to players who needed to be taken out of the team. The fiasco with Josh Lillis as been done to death already.

Anyway,Canavan and Holty have made a big difference and with the Stadium now secured it feels like a new dawn for the Club. Speaking to supporters at yesterday's game there was a lot of happiness about and it wasn't just down to the result. The Stadium saga is finally over, thank god.

The one or two idiots who posted shouting for Hills head during the season need to be ignored, they aren't serious posters.Others I think were right to voice their concerns at what was happening. On the pitch I think we were defeating ourselves before we even kicked a ball at times and that was frustrating to watch. Keith Hill teams always perform better when playing on the front foot and that's what we are doing now.

It's been a difficult season for everybody at times, full of ups and downs but we have emerged stronger. The management team and Players deserve plenty of credit for that.

Thanks, but only my own personal opinions so obviously it doesn't make them right. We all see things differently which often results in great and sometimes heated debate

Last few games have reminded me of Hill's first season in charge. Obviously we're not quite as cavalier as we were back in 2006-07, but there's a freedom to our play where the league table is ignored, and we're just playing each game in turn without any what ifs.

A good Easter weekend might change that, but judging by the interview any hope of reaching the Play Offs is to be laughed at. Publicly.

His professionalism will undoubtedly rub off on the other players, especially the younger ones who will be looking for big moves.

Yesterday when he came on he used his quality and experience to be that out ball. If I was Nyal Bell I would be following Holty around to try and learn as much as I could.

Its not even his on the pitch contribution's - he must be fantastic to have around the club - if we can somehow sort out a deal for next season that would be amazing - I guess its all down to Holty - we obviously cant pay him what others might.

He is playing with a smile on his face and maybe at this stage of his career that is more important to him than money. Offer his a bit of help with his coaching badges if he is interested then it is a win, win for all parties.

I had heard that the deal he had with Wigan he signed in the Championship was £30k a week! Unreal. He doesn't need our money

Maybe Calvin Andrew and Joe Bunney as well could learn a lot off him, in the art of forward play.

Holt, Canavan and the return of Eastham into the defence instead of Lancashire, look to have been the big difference.

Absolutely spot on.

We have a right and a duty to question things happening both on and off the pitch, as we do to compliment things when they go well. As supporters It's as bad to never be critical of the team , management or the club, as it is to never be complimentary of the team, management or club. As supporters we have a duty to be fair, though of course that is subjective as to what is too critical or too complimentary.

It does seam to me that the addition of Holt, as well as Canavan and Eastham into central defence has strengthened the resolve of the squad, but at the same time allowed the flair players to do their bit, in the knowledge that the defence behind them is much more sound. Congratulations to KH and the rest of the coaching staff in bringing in these changes that appear to be working. No nonsense defending is the way at our level, not pissing around at the back to play about with the ball at the back.

Did anyone see Eastham's superb drag-back of the ball virtually on the goal-line, before booting it clear? About midway through the first half? People where shouting at him to just hoof it but there were so many players directly in front of him it could easily have just rebounded straight into the net. A brilliant piece of quick thinking and skilful defending.

Obviously certain circumstances you need to be able to show some skill, but in general terms I am led to believe as a partnership Eastham and Canavan are no nonsense defenders, and from what I have seen previously of Eastham he is a no nonsense type of defender.

An excellent summary of the season so far

Wasn't most of the money from the sale of Hogan put on one side to go towards buying the stadium

We had an obligation to let Done know of any club that came in for him and can't blame him for increasing his salary by a substantial amount. I think it was Chris Dunphy who said he thought we had managed to avoid selling anybody but Sheff Utd came in with an updated offer just a few hours before the transfer deadline ended (it wasn't as though we accepted Sheff Utd's first bid)

Our FA Cup performance against Bury was indeed dire but I am not too critical of our performance against Wigan. Allowing for the team we put out and our tactics I thought Wigan were superb on the day. They are the best team I've seen at Spotalnd this season and I will be amazed if they don't get automatic promotion (with hopefully Burton who have had an fantastic season sp far)

What recent events are you thinking make us ambitious DA?
The purchase of the ground rumbled on since Adam was a lad until recently so was always on the cards, the signing of Holty to which I absolutely agree with he's a legend and a massive influence generally around the club, was more to do with his desire to return to us than us actually chasing him I'm lead to believe.
Things have improved massively on the pitch which helps more than the actual ambition of the club would be my opinion.

I don't think either of them get the credit they both deserve for generally being good footballers who are comfortable on the ball and they can both hit a decent ball too.
