One week for common sense to prevail 12:15 - Apr 18 with 6796 views100notout

Season tickets - the club have unbelievably scored a spectacular own goal following the announcement this morning but the tickets don't go on sale until next Monday so the club has 1 week to rethink / consult / revise its pricing.....

£10 "admin fee" for u11's?????? come on do it for nowt - its an investment in our future!!!
"No price increase" ?????? Do you think we are completely thick??
Nothing for u21's??????

We've just published the best annual accounts in our history. We're probably going to have the best season on the pitch we've ever had. Despite this you want to D'Alienate (smily thing) hundreds of EXISTING season ticket holders??????????

Come on Rochdale afc, you've got 1 week. The clock is ticking .................

Poll: So who do you believe - Hendo or the Board?

Good OP 100no

It really wouldn't have taken much to introduce a simple 10% reduction in early bird renewal prices. The cost to the club would've been at worst insignificant, and at best could've been more than recouped by fans, old & new, seeing that the club had taken our points of view into account and buying up the STs at a rate of knots.

Let's hope some sense will be seen.

How many season tickets were purchased after the Early bird cut off date this season? I'd imagine the figure is close to zero. Telling fans their is no price increase for season tickets is a LIE.

They could have put 50p on a pie and easily made up the difference...or maybe they're planning to do that AS WELL.

The Season Ticket books will be all printed up now and ready to fly off the shelf, they wont change anything now.

The Club dont need to offer the early bird discount because probably for the first time ever they already have cash sitting in the bank.Early Bird schemes are introduced as much to benefit the club (cashflow) as the fans and they dont need the money now.

They could have requested a random group of perhaps 20 fans of varying ages to meet up with the Directors of the Club one evening and have a consultation regarding setting the ST prices. Strike a happy medium and you get somewhere close to where you want to be.The price can't be loaded just to benefit the fans obviously

So if they don't need the money, don't renew until as late as possible, say the day before the first match. When they have sold hardly any come August 1st, at least it sends a message (that they won't take any notice of anyway!).

Didn't buy a season ticket this season , won't be buying one next.....I'll attend 6 home games in the Sandy so the club will get £102 from me next season. My usual spend during the game is £5.50, a coffee a pie and 2 golden gamble tickets. Taken over a 23 game season ticket that is £126.50 in extras they are losing as I will not be spending inside the ground in the 6 attended games. Couple those losses to the season ticket I won't be buying and you get some idea of the revenue lost from one person.....if any board members read this board all I can say is you are clueless in the extreme. If you can't be arsed then why should we...?

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

I think we have to hope the club react accordingly on this one. To ignore the reaction amongst loyal supporters to today's announcement would be a very big mistake.

I'll follow it up tomorrow if necessary, but could someone from the Trust confirm what part they played in the discussions around Season Tickets either on here on on their website?

If people who are Trust members want to ask specific questions, please use their website:
http://www.daletrust.co.uk/contact-us/
Stick the questions you ask on here. Ask that all replies are provided via their website.

For anyone who isn't a Trust member then I'll collate questions to be given in at tomorrow night's game. Please label them up as 'question for the Trust/Club'. Will ask that answers are provided ahead of next week if possible (you'd hope that would be achievable as they'll be wanting the same supporters to buy Season Tickets by then)

unfortunately I have already cut back on the 'extras'. I eat at the chippy, drink in the Cem and go in the Sandy and only on very cold days buy a bovril at half time inside the ground. I buy my shirts and other Dale stuff off e bay, but I am sure there are many like you who can 'hit them in the pocket' a bit more.

What should have been the most upbeat, exciting week at the club for a very long time has been ruined by them pissing off the clubs best and longest serving fans. Is this strategy the Board's or are they simply adopting the professional advice of the marketing team?

I am not a member of the trust, at times i have thought about it but clearly the club pays no attention to it on these major issues. Shame for those hard working members - they must feel today that they have been well and truly pooped on. Time for all paid employees of the club who are officers of the trust to resign.

Liverpool fans reacted to being abused by the club by a strategically timed walk out. Maybe we should consider something similar.

Can't argue with any of that...Hadn't thought of a mass walkout to be honest, I'd do it but unsure how many more would to get the point across ......

And then tried to blag everyone telling us they have remained the same price.

Not much use doing a staged walkout btw everyone will have/nt bought their season ticket by then anyway.

It was also noticeable that at Liverpool Klopp came out publicly and said that upsetting the fans was not helping the team. Maybe its time for KH to offer some insights.....though he doesnt have much of a track record of taking a fans perspective.

I don't see what involvement the Trust could have possibly had in any discussions involving pricing of the Season Tickets? It's got to be remembered that those on the Trust Board are only there as representatives of the members, that's there sole purpose, they don't have special powers to start making off the cuff decisions such as the magnitude of this one. They can't start representing the Trust Members on issues without first consulting the members themselves, that would be ridiculous. The fact that the Chief executive of the Club is sitting on the Trust Board and this pricing structure has been decided without any consultation with the fanbase or the Trust Members is a farce in itself. I wonder how the rest of the Trust Board view that?

It also needs to be remembered that only probably 15-20% of the home support are members of the Trust so really they only act on behalf of a minority. The fanbase as a whole needs addressing on this issue, following this announcement though I think the damage as already been done.

If 100 people (I'll be one of the 100) don't renew because of this (only 6% of last year's season ticket number) the club will be around £30,000 down over the summer because of this terrible marketing decision.

I think a 6% decrease is only a minimal figure too.

Just on the accounts - we may have unveiled strong accounts, but that money is surely what is buying the ground and the bar? Which then needs more money to refurbish it....

(I agree with people's issues with the labelling of the ST pricing)

Our good accounts aren't down to our crowds or season ticket sales though. They are down to player sales and a great cup run. Pricing out the Season Ticket buyers will just lead to even worse crowds and more fans picking and choosing games. I dread to think what the Fleetwood crowd of 1700 would have been without season ticket holders turning up.

Getting people into the bar and through the turnstiles is the way to finance expansion on both the commercial and playing fronts. That will help to attract sponsorship. What the club have done is the precise opposite of what they intended, and they need a rapid rethink.

Apparently it's not the size of the dog but how you eat it that counts!
Personally, I also think 2" baps are perfectly adequate too.

I've reverted it to an original format from around 2007 in protest at the club's backwards marketing strategy.

I agree it's a bit dark, so I'll try to find a better one featuring Sigourney Weaver
