2-0 now - Lund could be going to the World Cup - although unlikely he'll be still a Dale player by then.

Looking pretty likely that we've missed him for two games and he's spent it sat on his backside. At least he'll be well rested. Expect a performance from him on Tuesday! The team need all the help they can get energy wise.

Yes

Well, he's come on as a sub, replacing Stuart Dallas.

I didn't know that, lots have been signing extensions lately I thought most of the key members have been tied up for next year. Lund would/will be a massive blow.

87th min appearance making his International World Cup qualifying debut. Well done Lundy - guess he's the first Dale full international player? (competitive game).

I can't see Keith Hill dropping anyone from yesterday to make room for Lund. Barring injuries, I think it'll be the same starting eleven, though Joe Bunney looked tired when he was subbed - but his replacement is likely to be Rafferty.

Didn't Leo Bertos play in a world cup years back?

Leo Bertos?

He played against Italy (if I recall) at either the 2006 or 2010 WC.

Right - I remember them playing against Spain but wasn't sure if it was a qualifier or friendly.

Just checked, that Spain game was a friendly.

McCourt then had to wait another seven years for his next cap, which was a WC qualifier v San Marino, while McEvilly wasn't capped again.

Does that make Lund Dale's first ever full International player?

If you mean competitively, then probably, but McCourt's and McEvilly's caps are 'full' internationals for the purposes of awarding caps.

Leo's debut for new zealand against Iran was in Oct 2003 his first year at dale. Not sure whether it was competitive or not.

Yes you get a 'cap' in a friendly but I think you can still change countries until you get a full competitive cap? Lund can't play for England after tonight

South Africa 2010. Hard to believe quiz fact. He played in the only unbeaten team at that tournament.

NZ and Iran are in different confederations so I do doubt it was a competitive international.

He was also in the OFC Olympic qualfying tournament in 2004, but this is classed as non official for caps purposes as it is age restricted. However, he did make five appearances for NZ in the World Cup qualifying in (our) Summer 2004, during the middle of his time at Dale. So he definitely pre-dates Lund

Trouble is that Matt's agent will now have another feather in his cap to attract new suitors for the lad....real pity we can't get a few £££ when he eventually moves on.

Given the fact there have been a lot of extensions recently, it is surprising that Lund's hasn't been. I'm sure there have been talks, but he must think its time to move on.

Sadly so, guessing Laing and Lund will be off at the end of this season

TBF they have both been immense of late and can probably play in the championship on double the salary so makes sense,

Maybe Keith Keane can take that position, ? As for me , he's a defensive midfielder rather than CB
