I think many fans overlook the defensive work that Saito, Smyth and Chair do when they play and only take note of goals scored and created. Those 3 help the side to win games through their work rate as much as their goal contributions. They stop a lot of the opponents attacks down the flanks. I'd rather Saito starting than Dembele or Vale and really haven't seen enough of Poku to know what he can do. |

I also think that Madsen spent a lot of time on the bench last winter and must have taken a long hard look at what he wasn't doing during games and learnt from it. Now, playing in a deeper role he is performing very well. |

I'd prefer if they just pushed Dunne up to the half way line and aimed the goal kick to his head for a flick on and cut out the scary short pass nonsense before the boot upfield with not much chance of winning the ball. I wish someone would ask Stephan about it in one of his pre or post match interviews. |

To think that this time last season he was being compared to Andre the friendly ghost Dozzell because he was the 6.4ft midfielder pulling out of challenges and afraid to head the ball. What a complete turnaround. Hats off to Madsen, who is now showing why he was signed on a reported 5 year deal. Credit also to Stephan for recognising that Madsen as a deep lying midfielder is able to read the game and deal with situations in matches better than he was in a more advanced role last season. |

I just noticed too. It is getting spooky. Glad to see that Clive has noted that unlike Shteeve, Stephan has rotated the team more, so hopefully they won't run out of steam in 2026. |

I also hope that this season doesn't continue to follow that one's form. Edit. QPR won 2 FA Cup matches - this can be repeated [Post edited 8 Dec 17:45]

That may have been the way he would have wanted to go, supporting the club he loved. RIP Headphones Norm. |

Let's see how many he scores this season , but he could be valued at more than £10m. Hopefully QPR can keep him for this and next season, he keeps on scoring and if promotion is not achieved he can be sold for at least the £20m (add ons incl) Eze was sold for. He is according to Transfer market, contracted until 2030. |

Frey has often looked off the pace this season , he was better a year ago, but let's not forget that he missed all the pre season friendlies and presumably much of the training too. That is often a reason given why some players have previously failed to perform well, so maybe it's the case this time. As for alternatives, maybe we will see the likes of Poku, Smyth or even Bennie getting a chance to join Burrell in attack. Maybe Chair's injury is not going to keep him out for more than 2 or 3 matches. |

My seat in the upper SA Stand provided a very good view of that and that was a stonewall penalty. |

I agree that Stephan's team selection (starting with the same team) didn't help. He should have rotated the team a bit. |

My view of that was that Kone went for a far post shot that would either creep in or what it eventually achieved, a rebound for a tap in. Cannot blame him for trying to end his goal drought. Overall, it was a good 2nd half, and agree with those who credit Nardi, RND, Madsen and Burrell for their performances. In his defence , Dunne is playing with an injury, so can be excused for this not being his usual standard. As for the ref, both sets of fans were frustrated by his incompetence, his usual standard! How did he only add 7 minutes when the stoppage for the injured fan was a minimum 6 minutes (I noted the time was 51 minutes when Nardi signalled for the physios and the game had been stopped for about a minute and didn't restart until just before the 57th). Add in all the substitutions and goal celebrations it should have been closer to 10 or 11. |

We lost up at Carlisle in the 1980s, so don't fancy that prospect. Still have bad memories of QPRs last trip to Blackpool, so no thanks. |

I am probably feeling the same . The Carabao cup selection has left a very angry and bitter taste at how this regime treat us fans and cup competitions. They don't appreciate how fans want to see a cup run let alone the possible financial rewards for progression through the rounds. None of us are expecting a 1982 style cup run, but the team can get to the 5th or even QFs with a favourable draw and real effort by the club. |

Totally agree, he has improved beyond recognition of last season's player. I was saying before the game that I liked that he had improved his physical performance but wanted to see him get a few assists too. And he did that yesterday. That pass to Chair was great and then his cross to Varane to complete the move was the perfect ending. Only disappointment was his 2nd half shot lacked the power to get a rebound to create another chance. |

Having read some of the lyrics in other posts, especially one in ten and mercy mercy me and then reading the Blue ones I had to laugh. I always liked the foĺlowing lyrics In the year 2525 If man is still alive If woman can survive They may find In the year 3535 Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies Everything you think, do and say Is in the pill you took today In the year 4545 Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes You won't find a thing to chew Nobody's gonna look at you In the year 5555 Your arms are hanging limp at your sides Your legs got nothing to do Some machine is doing that for you In the year 6565 Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too From the bottom of a long glass tube, whoa In the year 7510 If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then Maybe he'll look around himself and say Guess it's time for the Judgement day In the year 8510 God is gonna shake his mighty head then He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been Or tear it down and start again, woah woah In the year 9595 I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive He's taken everything this old earth can give And he ain't put back nothing, woah woah Now it's been 10,000 years Man has cried a billion tears For what he never knew Now man's reign is through But through eternal night The twinkling of starlight So very far away Maybe it's only yesterday In the year 2525 If man is still alive If woman can survive They may thrive In the year 3535 Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies |

Too true. Stamford Bridge today looks nothing like the one in the 70s (see the Big Match Revisited). |
