The only thing to say about the first half is to say I would give it 9.5 out of ten
Inthe second half we reverted to playing the Russell Martin way at the back.I can't believe that TE has sanctioned that It makes me wonder about the season from day one
A lot of our second half problems were caused by reverting to possession based play The Russell Martin way
THB, Stephens,Manning,F Downes and Bazunu were all regulars under Martin in the championship They have all said they enjoyed playing tippy tappy Did they try and demand being allowed to play that way under Still who refused Have they dictated to Tonda how they will play?It would be a form of plyer power but in a positive way
Whatever is causing our second half woes it needs to change pronto |

I rate Ryan Mason as a coach and expect him to give his team a game plan to frustrate and contain our attack It almost certainly will not be as entertaining as the Brum game
Hopefully Tonda will show his versatility and come up with another winning formula

Apart from playing captain calamity TE has done very little wrong I would prefer a back four with THB and either Wood or Edwards In a back 3 Quarshsie is the only other left sided CB
The improvement in THB is down to him getting game time after he missed the pre season although his confidence returning is probably down to TE
Dynamic Damion Downs may well thrive and if he does then TE will have really made a silk purse out of a sows ear |

It is so good going to a game feeling like we can get something out of it
The starting 11 are almost picking thereselves again
Birmingham were arguably the best team we have seen at SMS this season and they never let their heads drop
Fellows needs a goal He should have had one on Saturday but rattled the bar
I loved the little wave by Scienza when he was playing draught excluder
I still prefer a back four7 which would cut out some of the crosses but letting the crosses come into a packed box hasn't caused too many problems
A word for Bazuna That save with his legs from a deflected shot perhaps shows that his reflexes are sharpening up
Win the next 2 and I think we will be in a play off spot
Another bonus was seeing Coventry lose |

I don't think I will ever get 100% enjoyment from a game where we play a back 3 especially if it includes Stevens
We were lucky to get the pen just because refs just don't give them VAR in the prem has failed to cut out the wrestling and shirt pulling
Their worldy second goal may not have happened if Aribo hadn't turned away from blocking or deflecting it He really was off the pace and looked totally uninterested
The winner really should have been cleared off the line but THB had an air shot at it
Yes we missed Leo but our squad shouldn't be so badly affected by one missing player
Interesting that the substitutions are already being criticised by some I've said before no manager will ever satisfy all fans when it comes to changes |

His January priority must be to reduce the squad size again Get a fee for those out on loan and not worry too much about incoming until the summer
Tonda has given him a problem now because all of a sudden promotion is back on the agenda Looking at the current play off candidates we must consider ourselves to be competitive in that company Even an auto spot is not beyond the bounds of possibility

It's now proving to be the team/squad we all thought we had before the Wrexham game It's a real joy to watch.
I still don't like 3 at the back but I thought it looked quicker without captain calamity
We never utilised Quarshie's long throw although THB wanted to Tonda wagged a finger and said no
Just 6 points away from an auto spot for those that want to go back to the PL.Looking at the last 4 that should be doable over 29 games |

Our football in the first half was scintillating Every single player appeared to know his job and position It was what I believed Still would give us and probably would have If a couple of senior pros had accepted that they didn't fit in
Before we scored Stevens tried to gift them a goal which they fortunately didn't take Look at their goal Our left sided CB should have been jumping against him but was stood ball watching
After we missed 2 or 3 relatively easy chances I thought it was going to be the same old story of creating and missing chances.And the we took off.I don't think any team in this league could have lived with that
One of the best coaches in Europe made some changes and combined with us being content to see the game out they managed to draw the second half
If TE gets the job after the Millwall game his first game as Head Coach will beat real toughie against Birmingham
As usual he or his replacement will get my full support

Charlton have taken 5 of the last 9 points available That is not to far off promotion, or at least ,play off form g
We need to average 2 points per game for the rest of the season so 5 from these next 3 games would do Any more would be a bonus

Manager wise I don't want a Tony Mowbray level of experienced manager I would prefer someone who is 45 to 55 years old with 12 to 22 years coaching experience That doesn't have to be in Championship football but certainly in one of Europe's top leagues
Keeper wise someone who can challenge our 2 for a place in the team Personally I would like the Stoke keeper
For a number 9 Troy Parrot if our 3 Republic players can tap him up |
