It's the NFL..again.
at 23:06 19 Jan 2026

That last throw was Moore's fault not Williams, but the pick earlier in the game was a bad throw. All year we've been the worse team and won, I thought we actually outplayed the Rams last night...and lost. Whoever won that game was getting smashed by the Seahawks next week, they look seriously good.

Helluva season though, thoroughly enjoyed it even if my heart didn't, and I think we'll be dangerous next year.

I'm quite excited that we're having this conversation in January to be honest!

ENOUGH!!

I think the ignore button is great as long as it's used sparingly. If I find myself constantly getting wound up by reading comments from someone, even if I don't reply, then onto the list they go and it actually makes the experience more pleasurable. The only annoying thing is that you can't view the entire thread if they happened to start it, although in some cases I guess that is a blessing.

I think I have 6-7 in total on there but pretty sure only 1 or 2 are actually still posting most are dead accounts from a decade ago. A lot of them never posted anything about QPR anyway but would be regulars in the political threads.

January transfer rumours
at 14:06 15 Jan 2026

Well yes I agree. The point being that all the frustrating things that he doesn't seem good at are coachable and more give him more upside than an all around "good" striker. He might not get there, Armstrong didn't, but at this point there's no reason to believe he cant

January transfer rumours
at 21:02 14 Jan 2026

Reminds me a lot of Sinclair Armstrong. Not in physique or style, but because he has one hard to coach elite attribute (pace and power for Armstrong, ability to find the net Kone) and a lot of the basic stuff is well below par. Intuitively it's easier to coach the below average stuff up to an acceptable level than get someone from "good" to "elite" on a skill, and if you do, you have a £10M+ player.

Doesn't make it a given, Amstrong never got it. Kone we'll see, but I'm hopeful that he will.

Fascinating to read this thread and the Kolli one.

Defenders have to be solid all game, but if they make one mistake it turns from a great game to a poor one.
Strikers can have a terrible game but one moment of brilliance turns it from a poor one to a great one.

Who'd be a defender eh?

Videos surfacing today of the post game speech by the Bears coach which started with the immortal phrase "Fck the Packers, Fck that team, I hate those guys"

Imagine Julian Stephen saying that after we just beat Chelsea. And then the club tweeting it from the official account. Instant hero.

This city is pumped. Nothing better than beating the Packers. Crazy season. Pats looking like the only team that's really complete from top to bottom, could be anyone from the NFC

This is what is meant by the magic of the FA cup. Not man City reserves playing Liverpool reserves. Fair play to them, hope they celebrate long into the night

Stay Classy Man City
at 12:55 8 Jan 2026

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I have some sympathy with Man City on this. It feels a bit cheeky. if they'd have been drawn against QPR and they'd asked us to give them all the gate receipts we'd tell them to swivel. And if they were against Bath, they wouldn't have asked.

Could Man City proactively have offered this? Yes absolutely and that would seem like a nice opportunity to give back. But it feels a bit like your buddy who struck it rich, you go out for dinner to a restaurant with them and ask them to pay. If they've picked an expensive restaurant fine. If they want to offer, terrific. But to ask them just feels a bit....icky. and if Man City say yes then they are setting a precedent for every other time in the future.

Unless I've totally misunderstood the situation in which case City can do one. And don't get me started on the scrapping replays bit, I personally think it should be entirely optional for both teams, if Man City don't want a replay they're welcome to waive the game and send the other team through to the next round.

I get it though. Not specifically to Kolli, I didn't see enough of the game today to judge, but let's take Vales performance the other day, extrapolate that to a whole game (yikes!) and then he scores in the last minute. Is that a good game? It's more like a bad game with something fantastic to justify the selection. Much like everything on here and elsewhere it's not necessarily black and white.

Keepers are kind of the opposite I guess. 3 or 4 really good saves, "great game", then let's one dribble through his legs in the last minute changes everything.

I go back and forth on that, part of me thinks well if you havent got booked in 600 games, you're probably not really getting stuck in enough

The Barry Bannan Master Class Match Thread

I missed the first half, stupid early kickoffs, but BBC, for what it's worth has xG for then at 0.1. I don't do a ton of the advanced stats but my understanding is that means that with the chances they created, they'd be expected to score one goal every ten games. Sounds like that is a strong defensive performance, but it certainly didn't feel like it...

Paul Smyth - Social Media Abuse
at 16:46 2 Jan 2026

I wonder how much of this is from kids who don't know better. In some ways I hope so, because the alternative is horrible.

As a society we appear to have failed here. Per the point from Tyson earlier, as a young 'un there was consequences to giving abuse to someone, telling off from your parents at a young age, trouble at school, getting punched in the face, you learned quick. These days, teenage oiks with a keyboard and internet access, there's no consequence. 2 minutes quick message, ha ha ha, show my friends. No thought of the impact on others and no consequences. The downside of social media is way way worse than the upside in my opinion, wish it had never been invented.

I wish I had an answer for solving this, more transparency about who's behind the accounts or something, but that opens a whole other bucket of worms.

Sorry you're having to deal with this Clive, and anyone else.
