If we can keep RND for the rest of the season I don’t think we need to sign anyone. Southampton would surely want at least their money back on Edwards which would be over £3m: with the cover we have at CB then he seems unnecessary at this stage.
And like them or loathe them the story shows the role that Wetherspoons play in the community: the old fella could’ve had three pints for that money and wiled away as many hours as he wanted.
He’s been a great signing and at 23 has loads of room for improvement. It was telling that most Reading fans didn’t begrudge him a move to a higher level even if it was to us. Get him on a long term contract asap: I think he’ll be playing for Senegal before too long.
Yes the paddocks side of Lower Loft was the emptiest I’ve seen it for a few seasons: guess it was a combination of late kick off/school night/main game on Sky/iffy weather etc but it was a shame.
If your team is 3 goals behind and playing badly with 5 minutes to go then fair enough but leaving early when we have undeservedly let in an equaliser and have already had plenty of decent attacks and there are just a couple of minutes to go seems misjudged to me.
To be fair corners, free kicks (apart from Dembele’s direct effort) and long throw ins were fine last night. Madsen’s set pieces are consistently better than Chair’s.
Best atmosphere at LR for a while, not just after the last second winner but throughout the second half. Chants and singing all around the ground. By contrast thought Brum fans were very quiet apart from the 30 seconds they were level 🤣
Well of course Stéphan isn’t lying about Kolli being injured: if this wasn’t true then we all know Kolli’s Dad would’ve 100% called it out on social media by now.
If Kone goes to AFCON and Kolli remains unfit then we will need Frey to play and perform. How about we try be a bit more positive about him and support him? He’s nowhere near the worst forwards we have had and has shown he can score goals for us.
The dullest of teams at home so thousands more of us have to suffer and we lose 0-1: apart from perennial ‘favourites’ Blackburn or Preston I’d add Stoke or Watford.
Well I’m sure his Dad would’ve told everyone a lot earlier if it was an ongoing issue. I assume he got injured again last week. The club’s communications on injuries and availability have generally been a lot better over the last year.
Madsen hasn’t regressed since last season: he was one of our best players earlier this season and has regressed since being taken off corners and free kicks. Not sure of his role in the team at the moment.
I agree that we don’t need Edwards in January as it’s the one position we have plenty of options with youngsters like Tylon Smith waiting for a chance as well. Unless we sell one of them but I can’t see it happening.
Not sure we’d be able to replace him with a faster more attacking left back without spending excessive money. Assuming he’s out of contract in the summer and he’d accept our wage structure he’d be a good signing.
I’d assume they do but whether Wilder would want him back is debatable as he hardly played him over the last few seasons. He’s been the best left back we’ve had for ages and been a solid 6/7 in most games so I’d definitely sound them out about buying him.
