Absolutely the right decision to abandon the game. Both of our goals were because it was unplayable in large parts. However, the ridiculous amount of rain in the hours before and during play would have forced many games to be stopped...as happened in Blackburn. Sorry to the Southend fans who made the journey in good numbers. Hopefully, you'll understand that neither of us wanted that outcome. Some of the comments I've read here and elsewhere are just ridiculous and demonstrate a lack of intelligence. ( Hi Rob) The owners have now decided to invest a huge sum of money in completely relaying the pitch and more importantly, the drains, which just can't cope with the volume of rainfall we get in Rochdale. They are to be applauded for this and we are very grateful to them. Safe journey home to all. |

Different game this half. Very fortunate equaliser but we could have had another by now. Still feel the subs mentioned by almost everyone would strengthen us. We have to be mindful that Southend finish games strongly. |

Looks like men against boys such is their complete dominance. Got to question the selection today in heavy conditions ( not that Southend are struggling) . Surely Pritchard and Barlow have to come on at half time. Galvin and McBride have been poor whilst East and Beckwith are well below par. Cmon Dale...we haven't shown up yet. |

If last season taught us anything, it was that they will press us in midfield. We started as if we didn't expect this at all and they have deservedly taken the lead following slack play down the our right. Hoping for a good response from us. |

Two ways to look at today's performance. Its another win at a potentially difficult venue and another three vital points towards a promotion challenge. However there should have been a much bigger margin of victory today. ,and our disappointing finishing could easily have cost us a couple of points. I still think we need to keep a player upfront when defending set pieces and we definitely need to have more accurate shots on goal. Overall, happy with the win. Into the next one. |

Unbelievable throwing away of top order wickets because of too much reliance on 20 20 and the hundred. Both teams bowling was good but our performance was a million miles away from test cricket. And the aussies will strengthen when injured players return. Baseball didn't work on this pitch and it gives them a big advantage going forward. |

Very thankful of the 3 points against an Aldershot team that caused us quite a few problems and I'm sure who thought they deserved a point. We were well below par because they pressed us effectively for an hour before tiring somewhat which allowed us to get space behind them. Very happy with the win. On another day we could easily have lost that. So grateful for the club in investing the funds to enable the game to go ahead even though the pitch is obviously in need of major remieal work to get through the next couple of months. Will be interesting to see what happens for the next few months as it will become increasingly difficult to play on the COA pitch |

Although we were the better team for 75% if the game, Boston actually had 4 or 5 really good chances. A couple caused by Ebanks slipping but thankfully wasted. Not the easiest place to go to but overall we fully deserved the win. However, a much better team would have punished us. In the national league, the lesser placed teams often squander good chances. |

Watching from abroad, so possibly beer influenced, but I thought we were much the better team, although we played with the handbrake half on for much of the game. Their goalie was easily their mom, but I reckon we will be disappointed not to have won. A quieter game than usual for our front men, and a slight reluctance to shoot my only slight gripes. Otherwise, it's a point away from home and a clean sheet. Still top with 2 games in hand. On to the next game. Up the Dale |

It's very sad to read about the recent shortcomings of the Trust. I might be wrong, but it seems to be something of a rudderless ship since the sudden departure of it's last (and possibly best) Chair. Having been a member for donkeys years and involved at Board level for 12 years, I am dismayed that I no longer get newsletters or indeed any membership reminders etc, which I always used to get. It seems like the Trust can't be bothered asking for my money or keeping me updated. Sadly, as a direct result of this, I have let my membership lapse. I also hear stories about infighting and disagreements at Board level, which just needs to stop. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but since the Trust had Main Board representation, things have gone downhill. By all means; work alongside the club and the Board, but once a seat is taken on the Club Board, it risks removing the ability to challenge them and puts the person with a foot in both camps in a difficult position; having to be loyal to both. Serving on the Trust Board is not some award for being a "superfan" It is putting something back into the club we all love, and can be very time consuming and thankless at times. |

We have looked a class above them, although they are far from the worst side we've played. We look far too strong for them in attack, and really could aim for a bag full here. Hogan has been good barring ( I think) his first touch which gifted them the ball when he underhit a pass to Gilmore in the opening minutes. Think they will bring their new players on for the second half and have a real go for it, which could play into our hands. Ferguson will hopefully be very ashamed at his blatant cheating Really poor form from him. |

Whose eyebrows? Everyone i know saw the same thing. Rubbish who might score the odd goal because he was a tall lad. Otherwise he's just not very good. |

Indeed Sandman. Well said .yes, we sometimes have a grumble about various things here and there, but we were there when the going was really tough and but for you and several dozen like minded supporters, we would be playing the likes of the club who had to completely start again.. Up the Dale |

I have to disagree about it being the regular fans who feel more annoyed when we underperform in a "big game". I'd say it's exactly the opposite. Those who turn up 2 or 3 times a season when it is an important game are the ones who go away saying "same old Dale" and then don't bother for another few months. The diehards have seen it all before and although annoying, they will be back week after week supporting the team. That's exactly why we should go at the opposition from the start and field our strongest available team without exception. It's why I still fear for McNulty's relationship with the support. Last night we were way too cautious even before the kick off, and certainly for the first hour or so. Yes; when the substitutions were made, we deserved something from the game, but ultimately, it's a results business and several hundred "once or twice a season" people will go home having witnessed a loss. Would I have taken our league position now before the season started? Absolutely. Could we have done better in the 2 games we have lost? Absolutely. |

Well played Halifax. We were the architects of our own downfall with the return of slow sideways build up from the back. Got to say that the introduction of Hogan unsettled Gordon in particular whilst Alarakia was largely ineffective. I'd also say that either Mani had a poor game by his high standards or alternatively, he was superbly marked. Agree that our two central midfielders were good, and the introduction of Rodney and Bercoe improved us. |

Bit too cautious all round tonight. The changes haven't worked out so far and the defending for their goal was poor. We need the attacking urgency of recent games but have to give Halifax credit for the way they have defended so far. Come on Dale. |

Very satisfying performance. We more or less had the game won in 20 minutes, and the Beckwith goal just after half time sealed it. Solihull not the worst team we've faced and you can see why they have improved recently, but they couldn't cope with our first half high press and movement. Everyone played their part, but a special mention for EEL, who has definitely improved leaps and bounds from last season following his long injury. Loved us playing in white shorts and socks which, although forced, looks so much better than black. Onto Saturday which promises to be a really stern test. They'll be itching to put last nights drubbing behind them, and hopefully, we can replicate our recent good form. Up the Dale. |
