Not only are we top on merit we have more points than anyone else per games played. More than Arsenal,Coventry, Cardiff and Walsall who are all top of their respective leagues. Only Forest Green can match us on 49 and we've beaten them on their own ground and played 3 less games! Yes York are an obvious threat having had the better of us twice this season already and scoring 4's for fun but we should and don't fear anyone - we are a great team and the team spirit around the squad seems incredible.
Doing really well on day 5, 2nd new ball with Stark, Lyons just limped out of the Ashes - just reign yourself in for 30 mins - but England just can't help themselves.
Or be part of something that has never happened to our club in over 100 years of existence. To win a league championship. Then by all means leave in the summer or stay on our adventure.
I suppose 1 plus point in our favour is over that time is our main goal threat hasn't really been scoring and we've still been able to keep up our momentum. Hopefully when Mani returns in the New Year he'll be refreshed and firing on all cylinders again.
We are still a point ahead with 2 games in hand. Yes they've beat us twice which isn't great but we still look really good. I was really expecting a struggle last night with the players missing and new players bedding in - I bet other teams were looking at it thinking we could slip up but we were great - up there with Carlisle away for chances created. York have an interesting start to the new year Borehamwood a, Southend h and Carlisle a in Jan. We will definitely know more by then.
Yes the pitch was impeccable considering all the rain we've had all week. I think Man Utd still use their stadium for youth/women's games so they could have contributed to them having such a great playing surface.
We saw that earlier this year v India. If I remember correctly in one of the tests they set us a massive target so basically we could only draw the game at the most - but we had 2 days and plenty of time. Think we were all out in a few hours of the days play not interested in saving the game.
I dont get that explanation though? Surely if they've used the sound from the wrong stumps it would be further away - it would show the snick later not earlier? I just think they haven't calibrated the sound to the pictures correctly before the game has started - it happened to our Smith in the first test where his snick came after the ball had passed the bat but that was given out!
I do wonder if the drains around the surrounding area is an issue? The number of streets you drive on these days in heavy rain where the water is coming up the drains or the drains are blocked. I doubt they are regularly maintained.
Interesting him saying it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be (the state of the existing drainage) - but they are replacing it and making it better anyway. Makes you wonder what the cause for it being so bad was?
