Late goals and wild celebrations at Loftus Road......
at 09:36 11 Dec 2025

Tuesday night’s late drama got me thinking, it’s been over 50 years since my Dad took me to Loftus Road for the very first time. There have been some very special late goals that are forever etched into my brain and will remain there until I move upstairs to join my Dad at that “great gig in the sky”. I can’t remember what I did yesterday but if I close my eyes I am taken back in time within our little blue oasis to some very special moments and celebrations and these are them:

Dave Webb v Stoke City - One of my first memories and the goal that got me hooked.

Clive Allen v Crystal Palace - Police horses on the pitch and carnage outside so exciting for a 14 year old boy.

Gary Micklewhite v Newcastle United - In the Loft with my mates.

Kenny Sansom v Arsenal - Not as late as the others but it certainly brought the house down.

Les Ferdinand v Blackburn - Don’t know why but this late goal has always stayed with me.

Jamie Cureton v Port Vale - Bit like Tuesday they scored in injury time and we then went straight down the other end and Jamie scored for his hat trick in front of The Loft.

Paul Furlong v Leicester - I think we came back from two nil down.

Paul Furlong v Luton - An important late goal to keep us up and send our MIG friends down.

Paul Furlong v Oldham - Forever etched in time. I swear West London moved a few degrees on the geographical map.

Charlie Austin v Doncaster Rovers - New Years Day and it got rid of my monstrous hangover.

Charlie Austin v Wigan - We’re going to Wembley.

Jamie Mackie v Liverpool - 2 nil down after 74 minutes No problem.

Dijibril Cisse v Stoke City - So important in staying up.

Jimmy Dunne v Birmingham City - So important in staying up and getting Jimmy closer to Alan McDonald legend status.

And now welcome Kieran Morgan to that special elite club. I’m sure there are others not mentioned but these are the ones that have stayed with me and as John Lennon once wrote in his famous Beatles song “In my life I’ve loved you all”

I really don't know how you do it Clive - To capture and bottle that moment then relive it again in words is a very special talent. The report gave me goosebumps.

It's over 50 years that I have been going regularly to our "little blue oasis set right in the heart of West London" and Tuesday nights goal and celebration with my Daughter will stay with us both forever.

I have no idea how Clive can pick a MOTM from last night. We all had different opinions afterwards Mbengue, Dunne, Cook, RND and Madsen.......

Guess it shows what a great team performance that was.

Interestingly I think the Dembele for Smyth substitute was planned for 60 minutes so at that point Paul goes down physio comes on just at a moment Birmingham were building some rhythm.

Result the planned sub is made, their momentum is stopped and 2 minutes taken out the game.

Are we learning the dark arts at last?

We were down to the hardcore last night. Many struggle with midweek fixtures especially 8.00pm kick offs.

My wife was moaning our Daughter had school next day etc etc.... and it's gone 11.15pm by the time we put the key in the door.

However celebrating the winner with her was another QPR life moment we will cherish forever.

School the next day can do one.......

A few round me left when they scored. It's easy to do when you concede a 93rd minute equaliser especially with it being a 8.00pm kick off etc.

I just had a feeling something else would happen but never in a month of Sunday's was I expecting what would follow.

Scenes that will last a lifetime.

Thanks Clive great read as always.

Leon Balogun, Tyler Roberts, Ethan Laird, Andre Dozzell, Dion Sanderson - When I look at those names and compare to our current squad it's difficult to argue that the club is not going in the right direction.

Long may it continue even if it is baby steps.......

Looking forward to being under the lights at HQ tonight - As always:

Come on you R'rrs

Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry
at 11:21 9 Dec 2025

Just had some free time so listened to the Pod. I thought it was excellent from Christian. He made some great detailed responses to the questions.

If we had more communication like this then I'm sure a lot of the "fan noise" would go away.

QPR give West Brom both Burrells – Report
at 09:23 8 Dec 2025

Absolutely love this Clive - A great write up on the game.

I thought we might get overrun in Midfield but that didn't happen at all and I'm not sure if that was because we were good or WBA were poor.....maybe a bit of both.

Anyway there really is nothing like Loftus Road under the lights with the team attacking The Loft second half when you have a front two who can cause all sorts of problems. That's two home Saturdays in a row now I have enjoyed myself and the wife gets to see me and the kids come home happy. She is not used to to it either.

Thought he had a great game and the double save was so important at a crucial phase in the match. It was as important as a goal scored.

Couple of misplaced kicks but then the WBA keepers kicking was twice as bad.

Keeps the shirt for Tuesday night for me.

West Brom Reflection
at 11:58 7 Dec 2025

First and foremost it was important to bounce back after the Norwich shambles and we did that so well done boys.

Although the first 40 minutes were drab it was important to stay concentrated as the first goal would be so important and Madsen delivered the quality cross for Varane to head home. More of that please Jonathan you should be getting at least 8 goals a season.

Kone had a great second half and when we got the second we looked dare I say it comfortable but this is QPR and I"m sure I wasn't the only one who thought "Here we go again" when WBA scored. Fantastic header from them by the way.

However our front 2 are forming a strong partnership and wonderful to see them combine for the match winning third.

Can we now back that up on Tuesday night, I'm feeling quite confident which is always a bad sign

Thanks Clive - Great write up - very well articulated.

Big game today - Be interesting to see how we approach it - If we get bashed up again in midfield then I fear the worst.

Unless someone tells me differently we are still losing £1.3M per month funded by our owners. We only have the squad we have thanks to the Eze money (again) but unless we can sell one of our players for decent money (Chair) we are going to have to cut our cloth accordingly.

Likewise - I was standing in The Loft that day and whilst a few round us went back to the pub we stayed for what was one of the games (second halves) of the century.

Gary Micklewhite - You beauty!!!

I was there too Clive - An away day that always sticks out for me and continues to live long in the memory.

Great to relive the goals in the footage - 2 things stand out:

1) All the players wearing black boots: Adidas World Cup or as with Super Ray Puma Kings.

2) The Rangers fans in the home end hardly keeping themselves conspicuous look at them after Peacock and Penrice's goals.

Great days indeed.

I'm guessing because of the squad now and all being fit he will have to patient and wait for his opportunity which is a good thing. Also great we don't have to rush him back and that Hamstring can keep having a good rest until it's needed.

Smyth’s super sub act lifts QPR into top half – Report
at 08:29 28 Nov 2025

Thanks Clive - Great report as always.

When I saw the line up I thought we would be overrun and bullied in midfield especially with 3 of our midget 10's starting. However that was not the case and I was very surprised how poor Blackburn were.

However you can only beat what's in front of you and the boys found a way to win which gave me a lovely midweek winter boost.

If we can get something from Norwich I can start looking up the table again.

Probably thinks the new contract is not good enough and he may be right. I guess a bit like Dunne last season we will reach an agreement. The risk Smyth takes though is he is only a bad injury (ACL or similar) away from not having any income after June.
