Watford v Swansea City : Match day thread

As it stands, Ward is not the answer to our problems at RB. Nor is Key. It’s a position I’d like to see us prioritise in the market.

Not to mention Franco pushed into touch and no free kick😳.

Ward is not up to this league (yet). He and Cabango got in each other’s way and he’s getting beaten easily on their left.

Vipotnik needs to find his shooting boots fast but given the disconnect between a midfield lacking any creativity and him, he’s not going to get many chances today.

Also, the game looks like a Benny Hill sketch with players bunching together and running around leaving acres of space elsewhere.

I’d still take that draw!

Who are S? You can’t blame outlets reporting it. It’s been reported on here!

I hope my post above doesn’t prove prescience on my part but I’ve a bad feeling!!

VitalSwansea suggesting we don’t get ahead of ourselves on this signing apparently. Whether that’s supposition or inside knowledge I don’t know.😡

Just waiting now for ‘the deal has stalled and the player is heading elsewhere’. Followed by ‘Boro sign Walta on long term deal. Hellberg gets his man’. Followed by ‘he was never our first choice anyway’.

Sorry but always seems to happen to us.😒🤪

By confirmed, do we mean interest or signed?

REFORM
at 11:42 29 Jan 2026

I’ve been saying exactly this all along. If Labour voters vote Plaid as a protest vote then they need to take a long hard look at themselves. It would be a far worse situation either in a majority or coalition format than it is now. Far worse!

Reform is not a long term option, totally agree. But it could be the catalyst for change this country, both Wales and the UK needs to bring about a more stable and sensible political choice.

Watford will be and always have been a tough nut to crack. Personally I’d be delighted with a share of the points but I hope we go for it.

The lack of points away is becoming a bad habit and stems now from a lack of confidence and belief. We are always just short of the mark.

The game last week was encouraging and disappointing in equal measures. We showed tremendous attitude to take the game to Hull early in the second half and were rewarded with a goal back. But then we took our foot off the gas seemingly not believing we could go on and get something from the game. I’d wager any other club in the league, even Sheffield Wednesday would have gone for it even more after drawing blood like we did and probably got something out of it or lost 3-1 to a counter attack. We just went back into our shells hoping something would present itself but not making it happen.

Sort that out, become more ruthless with more belief to match our ability and we’ll get a lot more points on the road.

Why has Starmer cancelled elections and blocked Burham
at 10:18 26 Jan 2026

The official line is that he feels it would be disruptive to the Labour Party at this time and to be fair that is true because I could see Burnham being very popular in a leadership concert. So that brings us to the second reason which is Starmer is running scared.

Above my pay grade Ed but it’s clear his confidence is shot. Can we afford to put him in for the length of time we did today?

Galbraith is wasted there admittedly and Ward doesn’t seem to be Matos’ first choice so maybe something will happen in the next week?

I will say though that the way we are playing we shouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom 3 points wise but that’s never something I take for granted. Also, we won’t be bothering the top 6 either so maybe allowing him more game time isn’t as risky as it may seem. I hope I don’t regret tempting fate by saying that!!

And I agree, we did. But the points I mentioned are valid I believe.

Key has lost so much confidence, it’s sad to watch.

Deserved more but when you miss genuine gilt edged chances and punch the ball in the area then maybe we didn’t.

Key really a liability still and again too much farting around the pitch instead of going direct. It’s better but still much more to do in that regard.
