Really good to see a back 4 and Ross and Shea back. Starting Wellington and Jelbert led to a big improvement though I did worry when I saw Manning coming on towards the end. In fairness Stephen’s did not do too much wrong last night though again he would not be my first choice. We really could push on from here particularly if Fellows and Aziz occasionally hit the target. Scienza too could practice his aim but he is a stunning player nevertheless. If he stays fit Stewart will be a big plus for us as will Charles and I do hope Adam stays ideally even if we sign another taller striker as insurance. COYS. |

If he picks this team then the manager and Sports Republic need to go. Keeping rubbish like Stephen’s and Manning in the team whilst side lining players who are capable and try like Scienza is the last straw as far as I am concerned. If it happens I hope a mass protest occurs AFTER the game. |

I was very surprised you had Manning in your starting line up Nick, Wellington is far better for me, and yet again he proved what a liability he is. Only the U21s won this weekend including the women who would be challenging for promotion if we had not released Molly Pike. Sports Republic under Solak appear to be systematically dismantling our club. For the men selling Edwards, Ballard (and earlier Alcaraz and several others) whilst keeping the likes of Manning, Stephens etc. is either utterly stupidity or outright sabotage. Ross Stewart's brief cameos when fit show what could have been achieved if we had bought someone to compete for crosses but Spors appears to be completely incompetent or putting us bottom of buying priorities in the group. I prey that Stewart stays fit to give us a chance of competing for the rest of the season up front as there is no chance that the at best incompetents running our club will buy sensibly. The really sad thing is that the good buys that have been made Scienza, Fellows (if he ever learns to shoot on target) and Azaz (if he can be bothered) will all doubtless be sold of cheaply so they can show a profit. If zi were running the club I would move Tonda back to U21 coach, where he was doing a good job, and bring in some not wedded to the three centre backs formation. Seriously I think the club was better run under Katerina, and what her father would make of this disgraceful shambles is anyone's guess. Get your act together Sports Republic or get out of our club. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Hull City The Preview at 12:23:42
Sports Republic and Spors are disasters for our club. Selling Edwards without giving him a fair chance is ridiculous. Selling him to a direct competitor verges on deliberate sabotage. How much more damage can they do ? Still no sign of a fit and reliable tall centre forward that we have needed since before they became involved. Absolutely shameful. I will give the new keeper a little more of a chance though I agree loaning out Bazanu before the new keeper has proven himself is another pathetic solution. With regard to your team suggestion Nick, assuming Shea Charles is not fit, I would agree except I would not have Manning anywhere near the pitch. Hoping for the best but fearing the worst I am afraid. COYS. |

Appearances suggest Sports Republic are trying to sabotage us (Tonda too is possibly complicit). Selling Ronnie Edwards without even giving him a fair chance given our poor quality defenders (particularly Stephens and Manning) is crazy. Selling him to a direct competitor is just insanity or a deliberate undermining of our club. If, as looks increasingly likely, there really is a group of ‘senior’ players running things Sports Republic really need to get a grip. Not hopeful that they will or that they will sign a proven goal scorer that we have needed since before they took over. Hopeless. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Middlesbrough The Verdict at 11:13:59
This three centre backs clearly isn't working and everyone except apparently our manager can see it. Based on yesterday's performance Manning should never wear the shirt again he was absolutely a useless at defending and was responsible for at least two of the goals by losing the players he was supposed to be marking. In fact any side with Jack Stephens or Ryan Manning in it's not our best 11. How long before Shea Charles is back, I would make him captain. I don't agree with the criticism of Quarshie who has probably been the best of our back 3 recently. Fellows needs to get some shooting practice that is not the first time he has wasted golden opportunities. We really should have been 2 up at half time but nothing went right again. Good to see Ross Stewart back really hope he can stay fit we need him badly. |

I agree entirely about the back three Nick. I would however definitely give Shaea Charles a chance as captain when you returns from injury. It is painful watching really talented players like Leo Scienza being starved of opportunities because the back three are so slow to pass the ball forward. For me therefore it would be Quarshie, Edwards and THB with THB in the centre. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Coventry City The Verdict at 13:04:53
Coventry should actually have been down to 10 after five minutes due to Eccles two footed off the ground challenge on Ryan Manning but the referee bottled it not even a yellow card. We are really missing Ross Stewart or someone similar, AA is great but sometimes we need some extra height in the box, not sure THB would be the answer. Hope Sports Republic take note. Frustrating day overall but onwards and upwards hopefully in 2026. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Norwich City The Verdict at 22:10:24
Yes we were not very resiliant and Flynn Downes should have put us ahead. However, Norwich were disgraceful, poor Leo was kicked off the park, even when he was on the ground after being fouled. The referee started impartial but later was unduly influenced by the home crowd this being the only reason Norwich could finish the first half with eleven on the pitch. Darling in particular appears to be a vile individual. I really hope they go down. I agree that it is time Edwards is given a chance as Wood appears to have gone right off the boil, ball watching for their goal and their piece of blatant cheating (Wolves did a similar thing a while back). We did miss Fellows badly, I hope he is fit for Coventry. As others have said we need to start getting the ball forward much quicker again. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Millwall The Verdict at 00:52:55
I think we should have had a penalty in the first half when Robinson was pulled back and therefore was off balance when he took his shot. There was also a suspicion of handball out on the wing for before the cross for their winner. That said for much of the game Millwall were the more aggressive side and probably deserved the win. We badly missed Scienza and Aribo was a disgrace. Hoping for much better next Saturday. |
 | News Comment | Southampton V Sheffield Wednesday The Verdict at 21:27:43
Really tough this. Yes we have got six points, but not against the best opposition, and I have big reservations about some of the players he starts, including Jack Stephens of course. My thoughts for what they are worth would be to suggest that Sports Republic take their time to ensure they identify a really good candidate this time and at the same time allow Eckert a little longer to see if he can deliver against better opposition. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Queens Park Rangers The Verdict at 12:59:21
I think that performance very much papered over the cracks glad to get 3 points but lucky to do so. Stephens made his usual mistakes that we were lucky to get away with. It sounds like the temporary manager listened to the old guard too much. On the brighter side really good link up between AA and JayRob for the first goal and Scienza looks the real deal. Really hope Scienza's injury is not to bad as apart from the first goal others created very little. He was my motm by some way. Hope the team selection is better on Saturday but hopefully onwards and upwards. |
