Interesting that Edwards has not been mentioned at all - not a happy return for him

I fear this is a real possibility unless Southampton declare.

We rarely produce two consecutive positive performances, so probably lose this. If we can follow that up with a win on Saturday I’ll take the short term pain

Will Chair be back to his injury free best?
at 23:06 22 Feb 2026

His injuries over the past two seasons are a real concern as we were so used to him being ever present. This latest one is particularly baffling because he was due back 2 months ago. Obviously he will be rusty when he does come back, but I think is still an integral part of the team, probably on the left as that is a problem for us, whereas ‘10’ is well-stocked.
It would be great for him to get a run of games to regain his match sharpness, have a full-pre-season and come racing out of the traps next season.

This season Vs last - progression
at 22:03 22 Feb 2026

Good post, John. Unquestionably, we are in a better place than 12 months ago (or 24 months ago for that matter). Obviously the more expensive recruits and crippling injuries have been discussed to death on here as reasons we should be doing better/reasons why we are not higher up the table.

One point I would like to make, is that Stephan seems to have found a way to stop a spiral of long losing runs (cue spiral starting with Southampton). HOW he has done that is by grinding out an ugly away draw after a loss. My view on these games has been well aired on other threads and I feel we have been lacking in ambition at Oxford and Charlton . However, purely from a ‘stopping the rot before it starts’ point of view it has been effective. We may have only won three games since Christmas, but we have only lost roughly the same amount and never consecutively. So in a nutshell we have become ‘hard to beat’ (most of the time) which is tangible progress too.

Really not a cause for concern. Took his goal expertly and his finish v Coventry was top drawer. Important to focus on the positives I think, without looking for perceived negatives. Plenty real ones will come along in due course.

Just a pity he wouldn’t shoot every now and then.

I agree, Bennie’s belter will grab the headlines and I’m delighted for him. But not for the first time, Kone has finished with aplomb. Looks like we will have two strikers in double figures this season, which is a significant uptick on previous years. A nod too, to OG who continues to weigh in with vital strikes.

The one that got away?

I always liked Sinclair, especially because of his exploits for us (Ireland) in his younger days and I was sorry when we sold him. However, nobody could say he has kicked on since he left us and is pretty much at the same level he was 2-3 years ago. That said, I’m pleased to see him bang in the odd goal or two.

Do we not all want the same thing?

But we are all the same in a QPR context that's my initial point. We are all QPR fans, who want them to do well. That's the common denominator that should be the base starting point for all discussion I would have thought.

Maybe, maybe not. Wolves were only 1-0 up, not 2, and then Liverpool scored 3 in the last 15 minutes. Also, Wolves were relegated as a result of the loss, so unlikely they ‘threw’ the match.
But yes, Liverpool ‘requested’ a postponement from their original April fixture, as a couple of their players were on International duty, so obviously that shouldn’t have been allowed to happen.

Big name players missing too. Our away form regression I believe lies with the manager. Way back at SU (who were in chronic form at the time) he saiid the point ‘kept the 9 point gap between us’. That was telling about his mind set so early in the season. Also I suspect they will overtake us in the next game or two

Superb orator and took up MLKs mantle seamlessly. Unfortunate not to be nominated for President, which makes the calibre of the current incumbent even more lamentable.

Do we not all want the same thing?
at 16:46 17 Feb 2026

I know we are (in our opinion anyway) the most frustrating team in the entire league. Beat Coventry, lose to Blackburn blah, blah, blah. (For me the most frustrating game of the entire season was Portsmouth away and we didn’t even lose! Because I stupidly thought beating Leicester was a ‘watershed’ moment in our season , instead of a ‘tear in the fabric of reality’ moment) But despite all the misgivings, the heartaches, the ball-aches , the downright boredom in supporting this team, this club, we are all ultimately singing off the same hymn sheet are we not? We all want this team to succeed, do we not? Success can mean different things to different fans (4th round of the FA Cup would be nice for example), play-offs anyone? But ultimately we all want to win more games than we lose and we want to be entertained while winning these games.
So, with this in mind and bearing in mind our universal admiration for Clive and the effort he puts in here, and the cognisance of the shit he takes on line, just by keeping this site afloat and daring to be honest and truthful .Can we not try - if not to all get along - to at least moderate our differences and show common support for the club we love, while perhaps making Clive’s job a touch easier?

Blackburn Reflection
at 00:25 15 Feb 2026

The real issue for me is the mindset and that comes from the manager. ‘A win on Saturday validates tonight’s draw’ is a clear admission that (a) he played for a draw against Charlton (and Oxford and Stoke) and (b) that he knew a draw was not really good enough. If you actually believe that getting a point at Charlton (or bloody Oxford) is a decent result then you are in trouble. You put yourself under enormous pressure to win your home games. Win at Oxford and Charlton and today and Wrexham, while incredibly frustrating are not nearly as damaging.
Our form since we beat Leicester has been borderline relegation, injuries or no, we need to pick up a couple of wins to steady the ship.

A win and + goal difference for the first time this season. 3-1 with a late Blackburn consolation spoiling Joe’s clean sheet. Kone, Kolli, Edward’s to score.
