Not really I'm just curious why your constant disparaging posting about the club and players has continued after a 3-0 win, normally you stay logged out for the week? So a game that was 2-1 is the only game you could bring up out of 27 this season. Just another post that you are so confident with but so objectively wrong. Like with your OP, you can praise Sam Field for stepping in with great defensive work which is true but to then use that to further this Varane agenda you have going on is weird. Varane led the team in defensive numbers, we factually did lose some control of the game after the change. It was one of his better games yet you can't stop yourself, like the Mbengue comments in another thread after he's been in great form and is loved by the match going fans |

I'm curious as to when this has ever happened Wombat? We might have to put you up with Julien Stephan's team and get you involved apparently |

I agree wholeheartedly, hasn't been often in recent years we've had an England youth international on the books, he needs the gametime. Just unfortunate he's competing with arguably the POTS so far. Perhaps with the potential long term Burrell injury and Frey leaving we see some fluidity in the system with an extra midfielder, or used as a pressing forward like we saw today (he was actually used like this in pre season also) |

Agree with this, in a midfield 2 you need a proper ball winner and it seems like Varane is getting overlooked recently for his defensive qualities. Would love Morgan to get more minutes in midfield but seemingly the only way that would happen would be for Madsen or if we played with 3 CMs |

Outgoings... Morecambe fans seem to really like him, hopefully he can land at a team in a much better situation |

Ah okay apologies as I missed that. There's someone on socials posting how Southampton are strongarming us for Edwards. I don't see why they would considering he's now their 5th/6th choice CB which is bizarre in itself. My gut feeling is something has to be done, I can't believe he'd be expelled from a squad based on ability |

It was quite well publicised that we had a number of bids turned down for Edwards on deadline day, isn't it fair to assume that money would still be available and hasn't gone anywhere? I wouldn't have expected those bids to be a few pennies either |

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread but I'm wondering if it's been mentioned the potential impact on both Madsen and Varane playing in a midfield 2 week in, week out? I like Stephan and the change to these tactics have done well, but over time I'm concerned about the fatigue particularly of these two players. They have a whole lot more to do compared to last season when we'd play a 3rd midfielder to help with defensive work (Colback or Field). I think the tactical change has helped Madsen as he has more room and space in the middle of the pitch to work with but perhaps has negatively impacted Varane as he has a lot more defensive cover to make up. Varane was the best player on the pitch in that last game vs Sunderland, but he also had Colback covering which gave him more freedom and confidence With fatigue, don't be surprised to see it, Madsen has played the most minutes in the squad this year and Varane is 6th most played. I'm not opposed to Varane being rested in place of Hayden, it'd probably do him good. With Madsen I don't think there is an adequate replacement with his skillset, the only player who is even close to him creatively is Chair who you don't want playing deep. To those who have watched more of the DS this season than me, I wonder if Alemayehu is a potential player in that mould? |

Quite ironic that your only post after our best performance of the season is to gatekeep and police the support, fans who can't get to away games are bellends of course. About as productive as these Marti chants |

Think I'll start calling the place Mbengue Road... dominant performances again and again at home Dembele also worth a mention, hopefully kicks on and continues playing like that [Post edited 20 Dec 2025 18:16]

Yeah I'm baffled by this, apart from travel back and any afters maybe, what else does this impact regarding the day and game itself? [Post edited 15 Dec 2025 16:52]

I'm not sure how you can say with confidence that JS made 0 adjustments at HT, I thought we looked like a completely different team and I'll back that up with the stark difference in stats comparing 1st and 2nd half below I think there's an issue here sometimes with posters completely oversimplifying the job of a manager at this level. A change doesn't have to just be a substitution, the same 11 players can be on the pitch but with big adjustments tactically From pre-season trying to play with a false 9 and building up from the back every time to a 442 direct with two actual 9's, how can you continue to doubt his willingness to adjust? Really off topic now but... you're skeptical which you're entitled to be, my question however then is... is there anything they can do to change that perception for you? I was generally much happier with the change to a more active communication strategy, however you then had someone in a Facebook group complaining at Nourry for attending the open training session and "making it all about himself". Just seems like an impossible tight rope to cross where if you're looking for something, you're going to find it. Tough one and I'm not sure |

Fair enough. Regarding competition there was also Vale available at the time. When Kolli was in the squad he never replaced Frey (don't agree with this) which leaves 5 attacking midfielder / winger positions to 7 possible players using this JS formula (Chair, Saito, Dembele, Smyth, Poku, Vale, Kolli). It's stacked and incidentally haven't had a number of injuries to create opportunities until right this moment |

The problem here is that no one can argue against this canteen incident as it could be true or complete rubbish - no one knows. You've been saying Kolli will be gone in January for a while now so we'll see With the "inconsistent" statements, we're comparing interviews from the 7th November to the 8th December. Sure a month ago he could be kept out of the team because of competition, perhaps a month later JS wants to use him but now he's having injury problems. Both could be true, I don't see why they couldn't [Post edited 8 Dec 2025 15:20]

That's brilliant. It's a great story so far, going from Coventry to Scunthorpe to Grimsby academies, uneventful loans getting 0 goals in 8 games for Bradford and Kilmarnock before Boro then releasing him. Overcoming all of that takes some doing |

Yep you're absolutely right with that, FIFA approved mandatory release on the 15th as of a week ago. So if in AFCON squad we'd still have him for the rest of this week https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo |
