Yea today affected me more than a game in a while. Just the general malaise that is Queens Park Rangers. My Norwich mate predicted 3-0 to us then crowing after the game complaining about the extra 9 mins. Lot of people know fcuk all about football and he’s one of them. Running joke in my Baltimore fraternity. |

As I said on another thread I can’t see a game plan from this manager. Away games are getting so predictable where we just don’t turn up. We have all witnessed our team having the worst loss record over the last ten years. These regular occurrences of abject performances with poor recruitment take its toll. I have always felt, especially after Bulstrode that the club attracted too many takers and not enough givers. Holloway knew this though. |

Just can’t see what the game plan is at the moment with this manager. Fing kick ball most of the 2nd half |

We just seem to give unconfident teams confidence to too many teams. |

That stoppage took 3 mins and 25 seconds let’s see if it gets added on . |

Player scores does their thing, robot, sucking thumb etc, teammates come over engulfing scorer. Team mates move away back to their own half to get the restart going, player who has scored then hangs around and does another thing, finger shaping, meditation. Ridiculous theatrics. WTF Ps now the subs all have to get involved in the goal celebration as well. Isn’t that entering the field without permission. [Post edited 28 Dec 2025 18:08]

Germany game From arriving at the station meeting up with the Gristwoods to it all kicking off outside. Having a lowly ticket from the travel club to buying a halfway line ticket from the locals for fcuk all and pretending to be American so they wouldn’t put me and a complete stranger i met in the England end. Very hostile England mob there to say the least. Brilliant game with some brilliant football. Hugging the complete stranger I ended up with when Lineker scored. Always thought Beasant coming on for the penalty’s was an option. Robson in a no win situation. Robson let the reigns off that team and they were at it. Thing is the Germans were such a good team as well. Privilege to have been there and seeing the local pick pockets and the ICF getting into it on the way back to the station a fitting and bizarre end. Still have the Final World Cup voucher for a ticket to the final through the travel club. An England World Cup final piece of memorabilia, probably worth a fortune. [Post edited 23 Dec 2025 1:19]

No way we outplayed West Germany in the final. End to end stuff and the quality on show and the occasion easily the best football match I’ve seen and been at. |

Credit where it’s due Leicester are showing some fight and spirit. The recovery and block by their defender on Saito’s shot for example [Post edited 20 Dec 2025 16:30]

Commentator here keeps asking what must Marti Cifuentes be thinking. I wish I had some of these players when I was here, that’s what he’s thinking. |

Remember going to Plymouth away under Holloway during his first stint. What a dire game of football either 1-1 or 0-0. Some of Holloways football was awful at times. Got home many hours later to a house full lamenting good result today. |

I was living in Kansas City, Missouri and an English girl friend on knowing I supported Rangers said she knew someone who worked for QPR in the community. I said that’s what I want to do if I went home. So I ended up in Ruislip Gardens and my neighbor Terry used to play with Andy in the supporters club team. Got Andy’s details and along with Steve Q they interviewed me for a coach working in the community program. Started up in the after schools program coaching to working with hard to reach members of the community to being part of the formation of the girls set up. To go to work every day wearing Rangers gear, brilliant. Recently just lost my favourite le coq sportif hat, not happy. Now been working in girls/ladies football for 25 years. My team are currently Maryland state Champions. Andy gave me an opportunity to which I’m forever grateful. A few of us were tight in the office because we were Rangers. Andy’s dad a lovely man and my dad both took us to Rangers as kids. Andy’s resilience and vision I admire tremendously and literally has done a fantastic job. Believe me you need the diplomatic skills of a saint to do his job. Saw him last December at LR and I still consider us tight. A good guy is Andy. [Post edited 19 Dec 2025 0:16]

Songs with a great start and ending, uprising crescendos, verses, choruses, middle eights etc. Thought about this as the radio played Bowie’s Rock and Roll Suicide [Post edited 17 Dec 2025 20:10]
