A Rough Guide To Yeovil

Many would have gone by train in April, but this year thats not an option.

Getting There

Driving

The club site last season recomended travelling to Salisbury then proceeding to Winton, there taking the A36 and then on to the A303, staying on this road until its junction with the A37, then taking that road into Yeovil, this isnt the recommended route though, that is staying on the A303 till the A3088, then the ground is signposted. however although this may be technically the quickest given that some of the A303 is dual carriageway,we would suggest a different route entirely.

At Wilton  take the A30 to Shaftesbury and then follow this road right into Yeovil itself, joining the A37 and heading west to the A3088 taking that road northwards towards the A303, although all single carriageway roads, its fairly fast and also offers a lot more opportunities for food and drink along the way.

By Train

Train isnt really an option in that the last train back to Southampton is 9.29pm, before the game has ended, there is a train to Salisbury at 00.09 am, but no connection to Southampton, so if your travelling from Southampton rail isnt an option.

Parking

There is a big car park at the ground, but this can take 40 minutes to get out of on a day when Yeovil have 4,000, so with a bigger crowd than usual expected it could get full quickly and be even worse, there is however plenty of steet parking nearby and its probably better to use this if you want a quick getaway.

The Away Section

Most Saints fans will be housed in the open terrace so lets pray there isnt rain, its a fairly staightforward terrace with decent enough views if you stand near the back.

We also have around 300 in the seats to the left in a bg standard League 1 stand similar to the one at Walsall in terms of size.

Drinking

Being an out of town stadium, options near the ground are limited, hence why we would advise those driving to use the A37 as there are plenty of pubs en route where you can stop and have a drink till  leaving plenty of time to get to the ground.

If you want to drink at the ground, the only option is a big marquee, however although usually they let away fans in, last year for Saints it was home fans only due to the numbers attending, with this being an evening kick off they might relax this a little, but thats not guaranteed

Nearby there are only a few pubs. The Bell, The Arrow & the Airfield Tavern, with the Arrow being the easiest to find as well as the nearest.
