Durkan Leaves Swansea For Personal Reasons

Durkan Leaves Swansea

Kieron Durkan has had his contract paid up by Swansea City and has left the club with immediate effect for personal reasons.

Durkan was signed by manager Brian Flynn at the back end of last season and after a trial period this summer, earned himself a one year contract at the Vetch. However, he failed to establish himself as a regular within the first team and never really became one of the crowd favourites.

Durkan's oipportunities would also have become more limited due to the return to the Vetch of former Jack Stuart Roberts who joined this week on a free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers.

A wonder goal against Rushden in the FA Cup and the opener in the 4-1 demolition of Mansfield at the Vetch were not enough to gain him a run in the side. The club have publicly wished Durkan all the best in the future and thanked him for the work that he has done while he has been at the club.
