Premiership referee Mark Halsey from Lancashire is the late change for the match vs Huddersfield, stepping in for our best friend Dermot Gallagher. He has been a Premiership referee since 1999 & a FIFA ref since 2000.
Mark has refereed 3 Swansea games in his career (we've lost them all), his last being in the 2000/01 season, against Bristol City, in that game he sent off defender Michael Howard. He averages just 1.42 Yellow cards per game this season.
He was involved in a controversial incident in the Premiership a few weeks ago when he sent off Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina in their game vs Chelsea.
Stats so far this season:
26 Games,
37 Yellows,
5 Reds.
Games refereed vs Swansea:
Vs Hartlepool (home) 97/98 Lost 2-0
Vs Brighton (away) 98/99 Lost 1-0
Vs Bristol C (away) 00/01 Lost 3-1
