Joe Allen has one aim - to break into John Toshack's wales squad

The Swansea City youngster has been a revelation this season having stepped into a midfield that was without Ferrie Bodde initially and now Darren Pratley.

Allen's performances have earned him rave reviews and he looks a dead cert to walk away with the young player of the year award when the gongs are handed out at the end of the season.

Another superb display yesterday earned him another standing ovation when he was replaced in the second half and he revealed that his aim now is to move to the next level and earn international recognition.

Speaking to News of the World, Allen said "Playing for Wales is definitely one of my targets - hopefully sooner rather than later.

"John Toshack was at the Fulham game although I didn't know that until after the match.  I hope he was pleased with my performance because my aim is to break into his squad."

And on current form you would certainly say that it must be very much on the horizon.
