The Liberty Stadium was the place to be overnight as fans queued around the clock to snap up the last 2000 season tickets

Promotion to the Premier League means that demand for Swansea City season tickets are at their highest and hundreds of people last night queued throughout the night to grab one of the last tickets to go on sale to see the Swans in the top flight.

By 8am this morning the queue was being closed to people with enough people already outside the Liberty Stadium to ensure that the 16000 available tickets will be sold at some stage today.

Fans started arriving at the stadium as early as 7.30pm last night and by 8pm the queue was the length of the South Stand.  By midnight it has turned the corner and was along some of the East Stand.

Interest in the Swans promotion has taken support to a record level and everyone wanted to be a part of an historic season for the club and also for Welsh football.

Prior to the final sale over 14000 tickets had been snapped up by existing and new season ticket holders who took advantage of early bird prices to secure their seat for the Premier League next season.

The Premier League season kicks off in 10 weeks time.
