Refwatch Preview: Barnet (a) Friday, 22nd Feb 2013 06:16 by Col Wiltshire-based referee Brendan Malone will take charge of a Dale game in London for the third time in 11 months at Barnet on Saturday. Last March he was the man in the middle for our 2-0 defeat at Brentford on an afternoon when Dale gave an extremely abject display. Earlier this season we saw him for a much more eventful game at AFC Wimbledon. Dale won the match 2-1, although they were helped by the first half sending-off of The Dons’ Jack Midson for an altercation with Bobby Grant. That in turn led to various other altercations on the nearby away terrace! Mr Malone is in his third season on the league list, although he has spent the majority of his time since then officiating in League One and League Two. So far this term he has refereed 18 matches, showing 49 yellow cards and three red. His most recent game was Torquay’s 3-1 home defeat to Rotherham last midweek, although Brendan was forced off the field at half-time with an injury problem which he will hope has cleared up.
